The fact that it is based on a Ford Fuck-Arse annoys me, as does the engine sharing. But i like 'em. Grown on me alot. Get a nice black one, with black kit, dropped 40mm + on nice shiny 18's, with the exhaust pack and i think you're looking at a right little beast...

Not a bad review either. Shame he's approached it with the same 'Volvo' reputation though...i think he must have forgotten about the T5's and R's...

I still like though

Thats a first, never heard of it being based around a ford focus as long as i know its based on the S40/V40 platform ?

the T5 is a volvo engine, if ya dislike that then dislike ya engine

why they said theT5 was taken from Focus. Man they should know better that it's a good old Volvo T5 that rocks under Focuses hood. But hell, most of the people think Volvos are slow and slugish cars. Good that they are wrong. Cos I could smoke some good new cars with my 700 series. The best one was a brand new Lexus GS. The guy actualy had a "I'm an idiot for buying this car" face after I smoked his "lux" Toyota with my 20 year old brick (a turbobrick). They don't know 850T5R's 242 GT's 740 TIC 480/440, 340 turbos and so on. All are actualy fast cars and can be made handel like a sportscar with some realy cheap mods.

Knew about the mazda, not the focus bit tho.
Still a bit weird to say a C30 is based on the Focus.. thats the same thing as saying the C70 is based on the Focus

Not really. C30 is directly comparable to the Focus because they are the same body shape as well as the same platform and the same engine.

Don't get me wrong... if I absolutely had to pay Â£19K for a small hatchback (which would take something like a gun pointed at my head following a severe kicking that left what little sense I do have spread liberally across the pavement) and I had a choice of the C30 or the BMW 1shoe I'd go for the C30 because at least people would then know I wanted to be different.

While we're on the subject of overpriced hatchbacks, what would you prefer, the Audi A3 or the Golf GTi?

I'd rather have Golf GT with turbo and super charger 1,4 engine. It doesn't mean I want this car but it's better to me.
Talking about over priced cars. Would still like to buy Megane RS knowing that for almost the same amount of money you can have Impreza WRX?

Well, the platform bit has been sorted-what i mean about the engine is the Focus has the same engine as the C30-i don't like the thought of a decent Volvo lump being in the a commercial everyday Ford! (thats not a dig at the blue Oval boys, they've made some awsome cars in their time)-it's just the whole sharing thing. So many cars made out of all the same basic parts... No individuality, which is why the C30 has lost some of it's edge!
