Gauging interest: breaking 480 turbo

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

yes its an auto.
the car has done 111000 miles
to be honest i've never had an Auto before and only had this for 3 weeks so don't know how to spot a good or bad box.

sometimes when I'm accelerating there is a whine - a bit like microphone feedback or the sound you can make with wine glasses etc when you run your finger around the rim.. (sounds dirty!)

the sound goes after about a second though and doesn't happen all the time..

it might not even be the box. i'd sell the box for £100

I'll have a think about it dude. I like having a spare just in case. I'd prob get it rebuilt anyways.

+ I'd want the torque converter and flexiplate with it and i'm not back in the UK for another 4 months so you would have to wait for me to get it (course i'd pay now)

lockable rear storage armrests are available, yes!
i'll check to see if I have keys for them and let you know.

i'll produce a list of who wants want so that including some unclaimed parts I think might be useful for others.

cheers,
Matt

Hi Matt!

Can I have the part that the dash trim actually screws into??That is screwed onto the dash itself, the cause of shitloads of dash thumping.

I can just imagine old Alan Partridge saying "Rub my rim ya mother"

A complete working rear washer jet would be good....

are any of you lot bidding on those clear front lights on eBay?

mine are the normal ones with orange glass, but they are up for grabs if anyone fancies them?

(along with lots of other bits)

as an update, i'm trying to get my Rover fixed up in the next week or two, so will have a complete white H Reg 480 Turbo Auto to break.
a few bits have already been reserved - but there's plenty more to go around..

Would mind the dashboard lights. My parking break indiciator light has died and it's driving me nuts (also had me driving off with the parking break still engaged). How much for them? ho.kyung@gmail.com is my email. Thanks.

sorry to everyone for the lack of response with PM's and parts for breaking.

I had a nightmare with the Rover Coupe Turbo. The pistnos are knackered so it looks like i'll be getting rid of it (rather than repair)
As a replacement i've bought a Mitsubishi Lancer Evo - but it DOES mean that I wont be breaking the Volvo.
Need to get rid of it this week (and the Rover) cos my cul-de-sac is going to start looking like a breakers yard.

I've put the volvo on eBay on a 3 day auction - 2 days and 10 hours(ish) to go.

no MoT on it but 4 month's tax. Car runs fine - but the box resonates occasionally. There is a knocking from the rear - the springs havent popped out though.

It'd be ideal to serve as a Donor car - and it really does drive well.
I'll put a new thread up with a link to the auction.

this does mean - as i'm breaking the Rover - that i'll have a T25 Turbo going.
Someone on here (will check who it was in a minute) has already expressed an interest)
One of the studs from the elbow to the manifold has some thread damage - where someone had to cut the nut off - but it'd probably still do up fine.

do the 480's have the same turbo elbow - or do you just use the compressor side of these?
Should remove if from the car this week.

sorry for any inconvenience about parts I was going to supply :(
I dont like letting people down.
