400 series tow mirror accessory

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

400 series tow mirror accessory

Post by WillC9303 » Tue Dec 19, 2023 4:14 pm

Hi all,

Picked up a set of new old stock caravan to mirrors for the 400 series a couple months back.

It’s an accessory I haven’t come across before, so thought I’d show some pictures of what they look like on a 480! Obviously Volvo designed these to go on a 440/460, hence why they look so silly on a 480.

The mounting for them is quite unusual, but is very secure. The mirror length is adjustable, but I have them extended the furthest they will go for full Dumbo effect.

I have the instruction manual if anybody needs a copy, but they’re quite simply to assemble and fit.

Now I just need a towbar

WOW

Are they meant for an FH480 running STGO and Volvo got their 480's mixed up

They're adequate for a static home !

I haven't tried, but If they do, I they'd struggle! Not to mention potentially damage the regulator. The mirrors still go on with the windows fully up though.

I don't think even Volvo's truck division have mirrors this beastly....

Looks utterly hilarious with them on - hence why they came off straight after I took these photos
