Hi,
I have some OK used spare driveshafts but I really want some new ones. I've scoured this forum which lead me to SKF. I believe the part numbers are VKJC 6686 (nearside) & VKJC 6687 (offside). Unfortunately it appears they are out of VKJC6687 and aren't manufacturing them anymore.
Questions being 1) is above accurate as I'm not the best at searching for spares and 2) does anyone know where else I can find a new offside driveshaft?
Many thanks,
Wanted - New Driveshafts

Re: Wanted - New Driveshafts
Hi Matt,
I can confirm back in Feb 2020 I purchased 6686 and 6687 for my '94 Turbo. I found the part numbers killing time on https://vehicleaftermarket.skf.com/uk/en
These were on eBay from KMS Automotive.
They fitted just fine - although I have only driven 0.2 miles to the paintshop via a flatbed
Just been on the same SKF website... I can concur.... 6686 "low stock" and 6687 "out of stock".
The SKF website has a link to "SKF authorised resellers"... perhaps ring round them?
Not much more I can offer, other than the power of ebay /google / autodoc et al.
Trust me, my eBay "saved searches" is a huge gallery of 480 associated part numbers!

Thanks I'll ring around. At least I know I'm not missing something obvious. Appreciate your help.

Re: Wanted - New Driveshafts
There are four drive shafts for the 400-series:
- Turbo and B20F (so basically everything from MY 1993 onwards) have number 3432598 or exhange part 9031181-2 left hand side, 3436010 / 9031177-0 right hand side
- all others have number 3432596 or exhange part 9031180-4 left hand side and 3436009 / 9031175-4 right hand side
SKF VKJ 6686 is 636 mm long, with ABS ring, front axle left for 1.7 turbo and 2.0 (B20F)
SKF VKJ 6687 is 734 mm long, with ABS ring, front axle right for 1.7 turbo and 2.0 (B20F)
Can confirm that SKF VKJ 6687 are unobtainium
Alternative might be SNRA V2117, see https://partinfo.org/snra-v2117/
