Flaming urgent

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

I was going to suggest this NOS one from eBay but it is for 1.7 N/A and Turbo only not 2.0.

It does show that the Volvo original was Delco though so that may aid your search.

It looks like the B20 has different fans depending upon whether you have manual +/- air conditioning and automatic gearbox So it may be worth bearing that in mind if you are getting a second hand one.

I don’t have a 440/460 parts book to hand but I’d be pretty a confident that a 440/460 with the same gearbox and air conditioning status would suit your car.

Manual transmission: 3344879
Manual transmission plus AC -1993: 3344880
Manual transmission plus AC 1994-: 3345234
Automatic transmission: 3344880

Fan blade:
3342577 or 3345235

Washer:
3200922

Lock washer:
3342578

I presume being a British Celeb you have a manual, post-1994 car with air conditioning? Is that right?

Thanks James, 3345235 and 3344880 are the part numbers I have been given the originals were melted off. I have tried a few sources but no luck so far. Am hoping Fraser may be able to help otherwise I am thinking a trip to your neck of the woods (Lakes) is an option.

Had a look at the 440/460 catalogue and 3344880 is used on 440/460 for motors:
B18 carb, B18U after 1992
B16F, B18EP, FP after 1992
B18 Turbo 1992-1993 with air conditioning
B20F manual transmission plus air conditioning
B20F automatic transmission without air conditioning
B20F automatic transmission with air conditioning -1993

The above seems like a minefield of confusion and I suspect that any 2.0 440/460 with air conditioning would be a good bet if you can't satisfy the above massive criteria!

For a short term fix you can get various sizes of universal electric radiator fans from Spal etc. One of them with the wiring adapted to fit the wiring plugs should work just fine 😁

Latest update, I have sourced a fan and motor(thanks Fraser). I still need the connector from the cem with as much wiring left on as possible. If anyone can help much appreciated.

Glad you're getting somewhere with this Norm - I was a bit shocked when we were speaking yesterday! Thanks for your later message, btw...hence I didn't get back to you.

Good luck with the remaining parts!

Thanks David, not as shocked as me. I am glad it happened in the garage during test and not while I was driving it!

Yes mate, hopefully Mark will fettle it in time for mini meet. When I dropped it off two weeks ago for MOT I called in at yours after seeing your 480 on the drive. Did you get it thru the test?

Sadly wasn't there for the test. My Hermes driver told me there was a 480 there so went to check it out. Thought all the details lined up with your one. She looks in very good nick.
Should have told me you went by mine!
I've been too busy the past week to get it finished in so don't think I'll get through in time.

Excellent news on all fronts, Norm - well done!

See you on Sunday then, when I shall be driving your car's twin sister... ;)
