any ideas where I can source a cover for teh inverted VEE that the tow ball drops onto?
I can't see that it would be left 'uncovered' as it would get covered in debris and then make it difficult to drop the hitch onto.
ideas please, otherwise I'll make a cover from some 3mm ally

No idea if it is available but the part number is 3434288-2. You could always cross your fingers, drop the -2 and order "3434283" with your local dealer.

Of course these have long been discontinued. People lost them everywhere, in the car wash, at Volvo 480 meetings... (sad but true)
Mine has been sitting for over a year at a guy who promised to make a 3D scan so we can make 3D prints out of it. I will check out once more if he has made any progress.

OK, folded ally is the way forward, sad that folk nick a cover from another car at a show!!!
I don't have item 6 and my electrics socket was , i think, welded to the main frame. I plan to just leave the leccy socket in the boot as rarely use the tow bar, especially when C30 already has one (as does the SS1)
no bumper to affix the previous 'home-brewed' version to the other 480 !!

If you have a fresh new cover, why don't have it 3D scanned so we can reproduce it? I would surely want one!

I think it is vacuum formed originally but could be made with a 3D printer hopefully.
Any idea how I would go about the scanning? I have a friend who has access to this sort of printing kit but not sure about scanning. I will ask him.
