Wanted PAS hoses Aircon model

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Wanted PAS hoses Aircon model

Post by arthuy » Sat May 18, 2019 11:27 pm

I am looking for a set of usable PAS hoses for a 2.0litre manual car with Air con.

Had a set made up but couldnt get one to seal well, very frustrating.

Any leads on a source of original ones used or other wise would be great.

Thanks

I wonder if Pirtek could help? Are they flexible hoses? Or ask at local farm machinery place as they may know a hose maker. Good luck!

which one wouldn't seal, and where?

I'm guessing at the pump end of the supply given it 'not easy to access'?

Rack end, can't recall which one or both hoses.

Limited access and fluid dripping isnt great.

I did get a set from a non aircon car and the fittings were different.

Oh !! :(

I managed to remove the steel fitting from the alloy of the rack, in with loctite, found that they were 'parallel' thread with a washer to seal, then the tapered seat was on the metal pipe. . .

might be an option?

the guy made set if them up with dowty washers but still weeped.

A good second hand set would work. I have a non ac set which are different fittings so seems there are some variations.

I am sure if it was more accessible it would be easier
