breaking LHD 2.0

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

breaking LHD 2.0

Post by arthuy » Thu May 10, 2018 8:50 pm

I wont be in a position to break this car immediately but happy to pass on parts to fellow owners.

The interior and front and rear side lights are gone.

Car is still running, I definitely wont need the wheels. The LHD specific parts wont be much use to me for example.

If you need anything let me know and I will check if it is still there and if it is something I will use.

Are all the front lights gone? Do you have the fogs and the driving lights left?
Is the mirror/window switch still available?
Some plastic clips for the load cover would be really useful too

Thanks! :D

I could do with the centre air vent if it is unbroken, the driver's footwell vent (not just the trim but the bit behind that the trim clips to) and the tweeters.

I might need an undertray. There is chance one will turn up at tomorrow's meeting.

Are you keeping the A/C? If not is it R12 or R134? (interested either way!)

Will need to check the a/c, it is the same as my own car so tempted to keep for spares. I will check to see if it is working and has gas.

I’ve just seen your message! I don’t think I’ll quite make tomorrow unfortunately, I’ll be getting MOT ready so I’ll be there in spirit though! I’m looking very forward to seeing what you’ve got though, I appreciate it! :D

Got a few more parts off the car today.

Managed to get the screenwasher jets off and they look like they have been replaced.

do you have power steering hoses (well especially the one that is at pressure)

I know it's LHD, but I'll manage to 'lose' the extra length, but mine is NOT A/C so your power steering pump will have a banjo fitting on the top vs a section of 'bent pipe' but I'm sure I can over come that wee wrinkle . . . . .

Ok let me know how you get on, but I reckon I might have found a solution

one of the guys I meet up with (Tuesday drinking) says that he can probably make up a replacement. the return line is easy and only needs aright angle connector and then re-route the return line close up bulkhead next to servo. . saves going around the houses (I assume this route was due to early cars having a 'cooling' pipe?)

Speedo gauges are in good orders and working ok. From an LHD car so dominant reading is KM.

I know I have repaired the VEM unit in Joris' car (and got some very tasty beers as reward    ), chances are I also did the speedometer but I cannot remember for sure.
