Group Buy for Heater Knobs

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Group Buy for Heater Knobs

Post by zapcity » Wed May 09, 2018 7:49 am

Hi all,

I'm after some heater control knobs from Scandix, but buying just one costs a mere €27 (inc. postage).

So happy to organise a group buy for these as the min. postage from Scandix is 18€ (they must be really big and heavy!!).

If I ordered 20, that would cost €200 (approx. £180) delivered. I could then post out for £0.60 each making a cost of approx. £9.60. With card fees etc. let's say £10 each delivered.

If anyone is interested, let me know and I will organise.
1994 480GT - arrived!!

C70 Coupé Convertible for the sunny days. Should sell it but can't!

Hold fire - there was a conversation about these at the meet. There may be a better option.

Any news is good news!

Got a couple of old ones for refurb from Tom on Volvo 480 UK. Scrapping his SE sadly, but has a lovely identical one being lovingly restored with some modern touches.

I've spoken to Rudiger at Shapeways who made some 3D printed prototype knobs for Dan Kru, but never listed them for sale at Scandix already had them.

Now he knows the situation, he said he would relist on Shapeways which would be a result. Probably a much cheaper option, so will await his listing.

Also got some cheap new old stock hinges. Ebay occasionaly delivers!

Just had an email from Rudiger.
He has been very honest.

"I uploaded the latest model now on Shapeways and chose the best fitting colour.
I also added just 1 € margin for me.
Nevertheless the price is ridiculously high (more than 7 Euros).
I am not sure if you like to order it. For me it looks too expensive.

As I have not tried this material before - if you order it, it would be great if you could produce 1 or 2 photos for me outside and inside the car."

The knob is now available from Shapeways.

It *may* be worth asking if there's a chance of buying the 3d Pattern, as we've someone on here who can do the 3d printing on, well, lets just say a VERY good machine. The end product is always going to be only as good as the machine printing it.

Essentially, we could be the "shapeways" equivalent, a pay him a commission on each one?

Yes. Still required.

Have a box of old ones but a new one would be good.

Thanks.

Unfortunately, the Skandix ones‎ look pretty poor these days. They used to sell original Volvo ones but stock has ran out. The ones they sell now are disappointing as you can see in the picture. The nose looks like it has been glued on but is slightly the wrong size.  I know this from experience as I recently bought one for new 480 from Skandix.

The Shapeways ones look more like a one-piece item and are cheaper. I'd recommend you go this route.

That’s a real shame :(

But thanks for the heads-up, perhaps I will do this instead then, at least I can get a passenger seatbelt arm from him too
