480 parts mini hoard sell off

Post by MrE » Tue Jan 31, 2017 9:04 pm

Hi guys not been around for a long time since i sold my last 480 nearly 10 years ago and the time has finally come to sell off the remains of my 480 stockpile. The parts have been in dry store for years so i don't know the exact functional condition of everything, so i apologise in advance for any issues. Please PM me if you are interested in anything, i might be able to test certain items as I also have a non moted 480 turbo to sell off. I'm happy to post most stuff at buyers cost, but large heavy items will have to be picked up. Thought i'd give you guys first dibs before i put stuff on ebay, i haven't put prices on things yet but sensible offers considered.

Hi,
We'd be very interested in the nearside rear light cluster and n/s headlight with pop up motor. Hubby is looking through the list for anything else as we have 4 x 480's to keep on the road so the list will doubtless grow. Whereabouts are you if we need to collect ?
thanks

Hi guys sorry for the slow response, had some log in issues... I'll publish more info regarding the car as soon as I can. James I assume...the crankcase breather is off a turbo I notice the 480 on your message is a non turbo? The light cluster is nearly finished so I can show pics soon, has come out pretty nice. I am based in Somerset

m59 Gearbox's I'd be happy with £50 each, they'd have to be collected...
Alan - which pulley the static or pivoting? The dash panel is the main large black face piece the clocks and switches mount to.

Yes, mine is a N/A ES with B18E from 1987. Is the breather different on turbos? I'm after the little separator tube thingie that pushes into the engine.

James - yes the es and turbo breather outlet are very different. If I remember rightly the es ones are a plastic tee, turbo ones have a diaphragm non return valve to stop the sump being pressurised under boost.

both pullies, I had one pulley squeal, so swapped both and forgot which was squealling :-( assume the 2litre same as 1800 turbo?

main dash surround, sounds like the bit I'm after, smooth plastic, black, I'd post a photo but no idea how as I don't have any 'web based album'

I have to say I'm not 100% sure if the idlers are the same on the 2l, I haven't worked on one but I find it unlikely they'd be

This is the dash panel on my old 480 Alan. £10 each for pulleys and what do you think is fair for the dash panel as good examples are pretty rare. Also would you want it posted? Cheers

Yes it would need posted, no idea what the differences are if any on the idlers, I'll have a quick look and see if there are any markings onmine.

the dashboard is still in the car? !! :o I thought it was from a pile of bits, or is this the car that you are trying to sell, paris blue H plate? that dash looks good , but so does mine, top left corner is where mine is suffering the most . . . .

I'd hate to have a car 'broken' if it could be saved. . . .

but if it IS going to breakers then I'll make you an offer for whole lot once checked part numbers, can you put me down as first refusal if DEFO scrapping

Lol no this is an old photo of my sweet k plate Paris blue 480 turbo I sold 10 years ago! The car I have for sale is no where near as nice as my old one! It has plenty of useful bits. I'll do a proper post in cats for sale with all the specs when I can clean it and get some decent pics. It's definitely a scrapper really I have welded the sills several times.... the rest of the stuff is a pile of bits from loads of other cars....
