Wanted Turbo catalyst

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Anyone who has a catalyst for a -88 turbo laying around?
Mines puffing white smoke and make the car stall at 60km/h.

I am not familiar with the UK regulations about catalysts, but in The Netherlands you can safely replace the catalyst with a pipe if your car is from 1988.
Also: are you sure it is the catalytic converter? White smoke usually points to head gasket failure...
Robert.

Present cars: 1994 Volvo 480 GT 2.0i, 1999 Volvo S70 2.5 Europa, 2010 Volvo V70 2.0F Momentum

UK regs are CAT reqd from 'K' plate so around 1992 approx so OK on a 1988 version.

white smoke is generally 'not good' water within system

on the two litre versions it's screwed into the down pipe,

If on the 'CAT' then you could get a lambda sensor boss welded onto a straight section if you needed to?

Ok, I will try to disconnect the cat to see if the white smoke disapears. If it does I got myself a nice welding job on the weekend
