Yes they are the same as the 440/460, so it should be quite easy to find one at your friendly local breaker's yard.
Why are you looking for them, by the way? Have they suddenly stopped working? Then another set of dials won't rectify then problem, it is usually a bad soldering joint or a defective voltage regulator that brings trouble.

Pretty sure I've got a set in the shed...
Erm... £25 posted?
Edit:
You do know the speedo is cable driven on them though, don't you?

Re: **WANTED** non info centre dials
Hi Lads,
Plan was to use a set when i go down the megasquirt route, just gathering info at the moment! i have infocentre in my 480 but thought that with installing a megasquirt ecu i'd lose the info centre and so would need another display for fuel / water temp, but maybe thats not so?

Re: **WANTED** non info centre dials
No, you will only lose fuel economy information, and the rev counter stops working. The first because the injection signal is missing (pin 5 on grey connector), the latter because the rev signal is missing (pin 15 on green connector). Maybe the Megasquirt unit can provide that? If you are replacing the ECU of a B20F-engine, the ECU also provides a malfunction indicator lamp (Lambda sond symbol) and receives a speed signal from the instrument cluster.
The info centre computer is a separate system, which only receives the injection signal from the ECU, the rest is provided by separate sensors. Both coolant temperature and fuel level are provided without the ECU and will keep functioning, as well as oil temperature and oil level, and the speedometer of course.
You cannot just change the info centre with the analog set of dials, you will need a complete instrument cluster.

Re: **WANTED** non info centre dials
Very interesting, Robert.
I'm currently planing a T4 conversion on a 460 which has manual dials, but I'm breaking a CD spec 460 with info centre.
Would be great if I could somehow graft an info centre in there too.
I'd have to change the speedo anyway, as the T4 gearbox uses an electrical pickup, as opposed to the cable driven one there originally.

A 460 with info centre but without electronic speedometer? That is odd! The info centre needs speed information to calculate fuel economy.doingitsideways wrote:I'm currently planing a T4 conversion on a 460 which has manual dials, but I'm breaking a CD spec 460 with info centre.

Anyway, I would consider a V40/S40 instrument cluster with electronic speedometer and info centre, saves you the trouble of adapting all signals of the T4 engine to the 400-series cluster.

No, no, no... Perhaps I wasn't clear.brinkie wrote:A 460 with info centre but without electronic speedometer? That is odd! I'm planning the conversion using a car that happens to have manual dials and cable driven speedo. This is by far the better shell.
I ALSO have a CD-spec 460 that has electronic speedo and info centre, which I'm breaking for parts separately.
Perhaps you're right about the X40 info centre.
I'd just prefer to use a phase 1.5 or 2 car as my donor as the engines respond better to modification. But they don't have the info centre similar to the 400 series ones.

Re: **WANTED** non info centre dials
Googling for Megasquirt rev counter, or Megasquirt tacho, shows that it can be done, but you will probably need some extra components. The rev counter in the 480 needs a pretty "loud" signal.
What engine does your 480 have, and what Megasquirt are you planning to use?

Re: **WANTED** non info centre dials
by the time it comes to needing megasquirt i'll be running a 1.7 turbo engine with a full 2.25" stainless system and a few other supporting mods (or at least thats the plan)
as for what megasquirt, i'm yet to figure that out, i need to speak to someone who knows what they're talking about with them and figure out whats best!
