I thought this was going to be easy but I had a look in the usual places (Mister Auto, Mick's Garage, GSF and eurocarparts) and couldn't see one. (I was, however‎, pleasantly surprised at how much Mister Auto had in.)

Anyway, when I had an auto box refurbished a 4-5 years ago, I was really surprised what the Volvo dealer could get, seal wise.‎

‎I'm guessing that you have a manual 'box, but they might be able to help you in this case, you never know. *Very* occasionally you strike lucky at the dealer nowadays.

Good luck!‎

If Volvo can't help you: try the Renault dealer. The F3-engines and JC-gearboxes have been used well into the 21st century, in hundreds of thousands of cars, far more than the entire Volvo 400-series.
For instance, the crankshaft pulley of the B20F engine (2 litre) has been discontinued by Volvo suppliers long ago, but is readily available at Renault. This is why Mister Auto has so many parts still in their listings, they list all equivalents. It is funny to see how many Volvo parts will fit the underpinnings of my Ford Focus

Mister Auto sucks at delivery time and availability by the way. Many times they advertise with "In stock" while they can't deliver that specific part at all; they do refund quickly if you decide to cancel your order though.

Yes, have been caught out by Mr Auto like that and it is a pain when it goes wrong. I forgive them because of the stuff they have and the price.

Win some, loose some.

Thank you both for the info, I have tried Volvo dealers in the past and had no luck but will pop in and see. Yes I tried all the parts guys I could and got no joy either. Renault looks a good option. Thanks again.
