Cupholder Armrest!

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Cupholder Armrest!

Post by AcidicDavey » Tue Jul 22, 2014 8:40 pm

Right, pretty much my first post on here since selling ol' Poppy last July, hello again :hopping:

Here is my Armrest I bought about 2 years ago.

Sold my beloved 480 a year ago now and although I have every intention of getting another someday I thought I might as well let this go.

When I got it all the vinyl finish was cracked so I've spent many hours slowly picking off the old finish. I then resprayed it with flexible vinyl paint but the lower edges attracted dust so are rough to touch, it's not bad and 90% of punters wouldn't care but just being honest. It wouldn't be a problem when on the car or of course you could just repaint it again :)

The cupholder 'cassette' is in perfect condition apart from a scratch to the rear section.

Not sure what I want for it, obviously these are super rare and desirable, make me an offer on it ;)

I'm happy to post to europe, I'll get a price up in the next couple of days.

To anyone interested in a cupholder, have found this on Markplaats. Not cheap though.

I put one I took from a 440 from scrapyard a while ago on mine and have to say that even though your right elbow now finds it's place to rest as the lid is higher It is a nuisance when you have a beverage on the thing and you have to push the window elevator or pull the handbrake.

AFAIK, there aren’t any reproductions. I believe you can make a 850/940 one fit, but they are longer and lower than the 480 one.

They’re not stupidly hard to come by, but most people who have them want to keep hold of them because they’re really comfortable. I wouldn’t bother buying it for the cup holding capability as they’re quite shallow.

Until you use a 440 centre console (which also gives you an additional Ash tray in the rear.....
