Door latch

Can anyone tell me if the door latches on the 480 are the same as a 440? Mine appears to have broken and the door won't stay closed.

dont know pm bkf_uk as he had a 440.

I am currently breaking a 480 if you do need a replacement.

Nope they are diffrent. 480 locks wont work with a 440. look on ebay pleanty of 440's going to the knackers yard now. if i had known i would of taken the ones from my 440 before i scrapped it.

ozturbo needs a 480 mechanism for his 480 which is very rare in Oz I have just packaged up a 480 mechanism for posting tomorrow.

admittedly the previous posts are misleading it fooled me as well

but we have corresponded via pm's so I now know what he needs.

Thanks guys. Sorry for the confusion. I was trying to differentiate between the the lock you put the key in and the part that closes the door. Anyway, Jim is looking after me very well. I love the internet because it is no longer a problem owning a rare car. I can get the mechanical bits that are the same as a 440 here because there are a fair few of those around and anything else I want I can get from you guys very quickly. Not many years ago that would have been a big problem.
