For Sale - Cruise Control Unit / Relay for Volvo 400 series

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Post by omn » Fri Aug 14, 2009 7:00 am

Hello.

I'm selling the Cruise control unit / relay that didn't work in my Volvo 480 S because it has infocenter, this one is used in the non infocenter cars.

It's almost new!

I think it has nothing to do with having an infocenter or not. This CC computer is for cars of the Volvo 400 series with a mechanical speed signal. The 480 uses an electronical speed signal, with or without infocenter. If you have an 480S, you can swap the dash for one with an infocenter (and adding two sensors). So, it is for a 440 or 460, and only if they have a mechanical speed signal. As far as I know that is for most of the 440s and 460s, except for the turbo versions.

I bought the kit but it was installed by a Volvo operator, I just changed the cc unit some days ago.

Thanks

I don't know exactly but as far as I know:

- without infocenter: mechanical speed signal
- with infocenter: electronical speed signal

But I may be wrong, anyway, I know 2 persons here in Portugal that have 2 Volvos without inforcenter (S/GLT) that use the cc unit like the one I'm selling here.

Thanks

Every 480 has an electronical speed signal. That's why, like I said, it is very easy to install an infocenter later, as almost everything (like the electronic speed signal) is already in place.

Only the 440's and 460's use mechanical speed signals, but not on the turbo models (maybe on more models, I don't know). The turbo models came with an infocenter or had the option for this, so that's why they were already equiped with the electronical speed signal.

melvin is correct all 480 models use an electronic speedo signal. This is fact as I have broken or worked on gt celebrations 1.7 2.0 turbo S ES and they are all electronic.
