Wanted - Real wheel arches / front wings

Hi,

I'm looking to get hold of the material to repair my rear arches. Going to give it a go myself with the help of a few friends. Hopefully this summer!

I need some cheap parts for the welding. I'm pretty sure original rear arches without rust don't exist anymore... So realisticly i'm looking for a pair of front arches with no rust / dents surrounding the arches, any colour.

There used to be new replacement arches on ebay but can't see them at the moment. Would also consider 440 rear arches if I cant find any front wings. Anyone know where I can find some on the interweb??

Would need to be shipped to me or someone close to Eastbourne.

440 rear arches are the same shape but about 2 to 3 inches longer so you have to cut them down.

will check state of front arches on the car I am currently breaking and get back asap .

I rebuild my rear arches using front wings of 440/460 series.
Cut out the rust around the rear arches.
Cut out the replacement part out of the front 440/460 wing panel.
Use front-right wing to repair rear-left arche.
Use front-left wing to repair rear-right arche.

Your 480 will be slightly wider after ( about 1/2 inches ).

You can find more easily 440/460 parts in scrapyards than correct 480 body pannels.
I have some spare pannels but they will need to be resprayed and ... I live in Belgium. If no one in UK has one, PM me.

PS : I had in mind that the same repair could be done using Ford escort MK2 pannels. Can anyone confirm this ?

Someone told me Mk4 arches....if it is Mk4 arches that is good cos I know someone who still makes them!! I did a topic once, will see if I can find it!

Hadrian Panels in Coventry do lots of panels (duh!) but sadly non for the 480, and few for the 440/460 BUT they do do they REAR ARCHES!!!

No idea on price tho, I thought it would say on the website, but sadly not. The good thing is, my boyfriend has had loads of parts off of them for his XR3i and they were al lso cheap! Might be worth a phone call?!

Just wanted to say that 440 rear arches work very well- I had thiem done on my first turbo and it worked a treat.

There is a picture somewhere on here.
