Late Model Alloy Wheels

Cleaned up the garage and found some parts you want to sell? Or are you looking for that one part? You can advertise or request just about anything that has to do with the Volvo 480 in here: brochures, towing-hooks, antenna's, etc etc...

Late Model Alloy Wheels

Post by Dan the 440 Man » Thu Jan 08, 2004 7:21 pm

Hi...
As the username states, im a 440 owner-i recognise a few names from the VOC Forums. I need some help-my Dad has a *mint* '91 480, (he isn't really computer minded, so im running errands for him!) and he wants some newer alloys. The ones he's after are more commonly found on the 440/460 i think, but i have seen a few 480's with them on. I've had no luck getting the name of them-they are original Volvo ones. They are 5 spoke wheels, but the spokes are curved slightly and they have slots in them. I also think they are an inch bigger than his-so i think they are 15's. I have checked out the specification list on the 480 site, but could not find any pictures! Could anyone shed anylight? Secondly, does anybody have/know anyone with a set of these alloys for sale?

Thanks in advance, Daniel M

are these the ones to which you refer?

If so they are the Taurus wheels, and I too would like another set.

Never seen those before, the do look interesting though. I don't think they are factory Alloys on the 480.Perhaps your best bet, is to find a breakers yard, and see what they have. Or try ebay.

Regards
Mat

p.s. If you stumble across a set of Taurus alloys please do let me know.

Perhaps they are just 440/60 alloys...

Still, anyone know the name or know of some, let me know!

And thanks Levensnevel! Even if i am a rival 440 owner.... !!

yep, these are 440 wheels only. i dont know the name of them but ive always wanted a set. They are 15's and also come in the same flavour but without the wee slots cut into the spokes, these are even cooler!!

Just added the (last missing?) Pictor rim to the wheels gallery on the website in the 'Club Info' --> 'Accessories' --> 'Wheels' page :D

If there's a Volvo 480 rim still missing let me know ;)

Hi all
I have a set of TAURUS rims taken off from a barely used twotone.
Run only 45000 km, original painting without any scratch.
Not damaged at the edges either.
They look like brand new ones.
Free shipping to England, Netherlands, etc.

There you go MatBat-a set of Taurus alloys!

Just sent an email to that Volvo breakers...fingers crossed!
Thanks for all the feedback guys-makes me wish i had a 480, just so i can chat here! You all seem a bit more modifying inclined than some of the 440 owners i speak to-i feel more at home here than a 440 forum on the VOC!

As i can't host an avatar, heres a link so you can see my baby 440-i'm not a grandad!!!

The pic is a bit squashed...and here's a link to my install....

Hopefully i'll be accepted by you all now-just a shame it's not a 480-it may look a bit out of place in a field full of you guys!

(This email seems sooo vein...look at my car, look at my stereo...it's not intended that way, honest!)

Speak soon, Dan M[/url]
