The first of the 4 has appeared already!
The green gt has appeared on Facebook, seems a bit pricey considering it will probably need a fresh lot of parts to it but it does seem to function considering how long it has been stored away for such a long time. If I remember correctly there was another green gt that sold a few months ago for around the £1500 that was fully functional with a bit of work needed for the rear arches

Thought I'd put the link here if anyone wants to have a look at it.
Seems like he's not going to break it either so don't get too excited about having the wheels

Looks like you can see the white 480 of the 4 cars in the background of one of the pics.
Re: The first of the 4 has appeared already!
Thought they'd soon start appearing!
Looking at the MOT history it wants quite a lot of welding repairs done to it. The variation in MOT passes/fails/advisories suggests to me it's been to different places applying different standards. Even if all the rear end repairs were properly done at some stage, more recent tests show front subframe mounting points plus one of the jacking points - my guess is that a close examination of the underside would reveal extensive corrosion.
But in fairness, things like wheels and interior all look pretty good - as far as you can tell in those photos. Although it's good to see pictures of how it looked when emerging from the barn, I think some photos of it washed and clean would help immensely......

Looks like its sold already? That was quick! Then again, that Two Tone that was up for £3k the other day didn't hang around for long either.
Just as well he wasn't breaking the GT as you'd have had some competition on those wheels AND the interior! I prefer Taurus's to the Vesas, but I'd want them for the rarity alone

POA indicates an eye watering price. I hope no-one buys it without looking at the poor MoT history.

I'm glad you said wash, and not, as they described it "a deep clean"richard-smyth wrote: ↑Mon Jan 23, 2023 9:47 pmhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0VI74GnjdVo

Felt like that title needed reporting to trading standards!

As was the GT.
Then it went to car and classic with a POA
Then they listed the wheels on Facebook for £350
Don’t you love it when enthusiasts rescue cars…..

Lol, I remember using a power washer on my 95 ES - oh my word, hew knew that lacquered paintwork could be so brittle after 20 plus years in the sun!
I guess these folk know what they are doing though...although clearly separating a car from its wheels is a bit ofa clue.
What a shame it wasn't an enthusiast or group of enthusiasts that were able to take them on. Darned shame!

Re: The first of the 4 has appeared already!
Some notes on the video:
1. Levering against the pads to move the piston is all well and good - if you're replacing the pads.
2. If you're trying to push the piston back, it's going to be much easier if you loosen the bleed nipple, thus not pushing the entire system backwards through the ABS/Master cylinder seals
3. You can buy new sliders for £16 a pair, do not re-use the old ones.
4. You should be absolutely changing the caliper seals when they've stood for so long; again a whole kit is £22.
5. You should also be renewing the fluid.
6. Driving a car on a public road, without tax, MOT and presumably, insurance, is illegal.
