Mathewson's
Just seen a tidy looking 480 on Mathewson's website (Bangers & Cash). 1994 2 litre in white, 76k miles, half leather interior by the looks of it (jazzy pattern on cloth). Guide £4000 - £5000 in October auction. Anybody up for it?
Re: Mathewson's
Rear arches repaired, evidenced by not only the lack of Chip protectors, but also the white overspray into the arch.
Not saying that's a bad thing, but I'd prefer to see evidence of HOW it was done.
Exhaust sounds like it's hanging off, no MOT suggest to me its headed to auction too early.....

Re: Mathewson's
It does seem a little strange that it doesn't have an MOT, considering the condition it's in and the price its estimated to go for. However, I don't think it would take much to pass one (I'm sounding like the seller here
)
Condition wise, it looks nothing short of pristine, at least from where I'm sitting. The window seals aren't warped or have rusted - now that IS rare. The only thing I could spot was a broken driver's seatbelt buckle.
I agree with Jeff on the welding job on the rear arches though. 100x better than seeing rust there, but more information on how it was done would be good. The respray job doesn't look like it was done with much panache either, but I think I'm nit-picking at this point - this is a 28 year old car!
The one thing that does concern me is the mileage. A little over 200 miles since 2013 shows this car has had almost no use at all - the cobwebs in the engine bay back that point up very well. Cars, especially 480s, do not like sitting for long periods on end. I discovered a little bit of that with mine.
I do think that 4-5k is a little optimistic, though. Will be interesting to see what it sells for.

Re: Mathewson's
One white 480 looks pretty much like another white 480! I think I've mixed up these two, so guide price unchanged on original car. Latest, more expensive car hasn't had repairs to rear wheel arches. Also, a couple of P1800s in Dec auction - if only I could afford one!

Do we know if they will be put up again? I would love to get a bit of a fresher white one
