Nice but a bit overpriced

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

Nice but a bit overpriced

I have been slacking off keeping a religious finger on the pulse of 480 sales as of late, with my own car and the Audi seeking attention, but this caught my eye being a lesser spotted colour and wheel combo, too much money though...

It's had a Celebration interior put in, and although I have no issue at all with the wheels as such (Canis suit the 480!) but Canis were never fitted to the 480 as standard. These changes make me wonder what was wrong with the original interior and wheels. Maybe nothing and just owner choice, but maybe there were some more serious past issues?

Although the auxiliary gauges are specifically mentioned in the advert I doubt the proper sender is there for the oil pressure gauge (they're LHD gauges, not UK) since the oil pressure gauge needle appears to be stuck at maximum.

The rear arches have been done at some stage since the stone chip stickers are missing.

Overall not bad looking at all, but I agree with your thoughts on price, Ben.

I always thought it was listed on the main site as an option?

They were a 400 series wheel (standard fit on the 440/460 LE and ES), so yes, in that sense an available option. Certainly they appear in the 400 series accessories brochures.

But - like the similar Pictor wheels - by the time they came out the 480 was very much on its production run-out. In this instance the car itself fractionally pre-dates the wheels. I think this is why you rarely see them on a 480 - the opportunities to specify them as an option from new will have been very few indeed.

The ones Pud sits on are from my 1996 440ES...
