Been made aware of this:

Black bumpered 1.7 ES, first of the proper injection (not a b18e) engines. That however, is the reason this car needs rescuing...

Apparently the engine overheated, blew its headgasket and then work stopped. (I suspect the elderly owner decided it was easier to give up driving)

MOT history looks good, but unfortunately we're stacked with rescue cars at the moment, so there's no room (I'm desperately trying to reshuffle some stuff!).

Drop me a PM if you want more info or can offer help!

Where is it? Not that it really matters I suppose, since it will need to be trailered away.

Lancashire might be a long shot though. What kind of consideration is wanted by the owner, for someone to take it away?

Ah yes, that would help!

Henlow. Just a little bit south of the infamous Lakes Volvo breaker.....

In what way do you mean "first of the proper injection" cars? I thought B18E was injected...

Or have I totally missed a bunch of carbs on my engine?

The close proximity to Lakes is quite concerning, it would be a shame if it was broken.
The rescue group would like to take it on, but have no space anywhere for it. Any volunteers to foster it ?

Ok, maybe I should have said “the “more easily obtainable spare parts” injection system…..

Provided it was a quick (1-2 week) turnaround, I might be able to do something for storage at my grandmother's field, but it will be outside and in Hampshire. I will chat with my father about it as my uncle is keeping a few boats there (you think 480s are big projects) so a wedge shouldn't be much of an issue, and it might be an excuse to get a car port in there which I can then use for more tat

Unfortunately we'd need rather a lot more than 1-2 weeks, but thank you for the thought.
Jeff is completely snowed under with work so even 1-2 months might not be long enough. :(

I could take it in, how much are they wanting for it?
It seems such a shame too as the arches are in better condition than mine !
