Celebration No:398 For sale £1895

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

1995 Volvo 480 Celebration 398/480
Mileage 63000
M.O.T, Exp AUG 2022

I have reluctantly decided to sell my beloved Volvo 480 after 14 years of ownership. This hasn’t been an easy decision by any means but I simply don’t have the time to give the car the time and attention it deserves as my life has changed direction in a big way anyway I digress….

GOOD POINTS:

Everything works on the car Except the “Air Con”. The troublesome “Pop-up” lights work as they should, The Info Centre works as it should and can be clearly read, All the dash is lit as it should be and the gauges function as they should.

The leather seats are in reasonable condition but would benefit from a specialist going over them to make them perfect.

Whilst I have owned the car she has had all front steering and suspension components renewed including in the last 3 years:
Springs,
Shocks,
Both Wishbones/Lower arms
Drop links,
Track rods ends,
Steering rack boots,
Brake pads/Disks,
Front Calipers rebuilt,
New front brake hoses,

NOTE: I think the front wheels might need re alignment

Full fluid change including, Engine Oil/Filter, Fuel filter (Spare new fuel filter thrown in as managed to purchase two by mistake), Gearbox Oil, Brake Fluid.

All new Spark Plugs, Ignition Coil, HT Leads.

Rear end rebuild includes:
Rear Shocks/Springs
Trailing arm bushes,
Rear drop links,
Pan hard rod bushes,
Rear bumper insert has been repaired and undersealed

As well the above included with the car is a new INA timing belt kit, Water pump/Gasket kit with new Auxiliary belt and new Alternator belt (All new in packaging they just need fitting)

Also included with the car is a whole host of spares FAR to many to list, I’ll let the pictures do the talking. You will probably need a small/medium van to take them all... including 2 full sets of alloy wheels + 2 spare alloys (10 wheels in total)

Bad Points:

The bodywork is cosmetically challenged with lacquer peeling off here and there. There are also a few scrapes and scuffs here and there including front and rear bumpers and rear arches are starting to bubble. It was my intention to get the bodywork done and resprayed but as already mentioned this is no longer possible under my ownership sadly.

The engine runs really well, accelerates very quickly and the cooling fan kicks in and out as it should no overheating at all. However since it’s M.O.T it has developed an intermittent fault we think in the fuel system in that once the car starts to warm up it struggles pull smoothly unless given very light throttle and seems to be happy with that… Sometimes switching the car off then on again can remedy the fault but not always. So on this basis alone I would be inclined to say the car would be better recovered than driven until the fault found and fixed but that is up to the purchaser. Someone on the forum mentioned the Fuel pressure regulator but I have not investigated this as it would mean removing the timing belt cover.
