I'd be taking the rear bumper off as a matter of course, to see what remains of the rear crash bar.

Front and rear is (if the bolts co-operate) a simple task.

I suspect the "mystery bidder" was a freshly created account the seller created, in order to bump the bidding to what he paid for the car.

If it helps, I’ve been to see this car today. It’s in a sorry state.
The engine runs but almost every panel has rust including the roof, the windscreen is cracked and needs replacing. O/S/R inner arch needs welding
Every suspension bush needs replacing. Rear bump stops have dropped down which probably means the upper part has more than likely rotted away.

The clutch problem... new cable fitted but wrong type so could not test the clutch/box for function.

Exhaust mounts broken at the front

Centre console/handbrake flapping around. N/S electric window not working.

The guy that owns it owns a body repair shop. Has not had time to repair and probably has left it too long.

Worth saving? I’d say 4K in body work and a full repaint would be a start.

bloomin 'eck, I think that is a serious case of maybe just being too much to do, but then, how many pre facelift turbos are left?

The very thing it needs is his bread and butter, but he's NOT done it? Sure it could be "one project too many", "not enough spare time" but to me it screams "too far gone".

Obviously, I'd LOVE to save every single one - even if just for parts, but much like the facebook car, it shows how quickly a once great car can go if left in the wrong hands.
