Unexpectedly Available! Looking for a Good Home

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

Congrats on the sale Martin. The guy on Facebook who I put in touch was a tad disappointed to miss out. He used to own a blue ES he told me.

I had an update today from Keith who took the car down to the Midlands yesterday. Apparently the problems with the pop up headlamps was a simple fuse :) All working fine again now!

A further three 'very keen' prospective 480 owners came forward today too, one from each of the channels I used to advertise the car Gumtree, Car & Classic, Autotrader). I'm very happy that the car went home with Keith, though, and I suspect we will be seeing news of his ongoing ownership on these very pages before too long.

As for me, I'm delighted to be back behind the wheel of Nilani, and looking forward to some drier weather when there might the prospect of a meet up.

Best regards to all!

You're welcome to bring Nilani back over the Pennines and time - I think Lily misses her ;)

Don't people read anymore?

I updated the Gumtree ad for the Paris Blue wedgie straight after she departed for pastures new with Keith - I even put the word SOLD prominently thoughout the description and added a price-tag of £6,000,000 (yes - £6 Million!) - but I've still had three enquiries asking "Is this still available?"

Madness, madness, they call it madness!

 - no, people just don't read things properly, and only see what they want to see...

Perhaps we should take heart that there is such renewed interest in our cars that people are desperate enough to get one they just don't see words like "sold". Mind you, isn't the first thing one always looks at the price?

Attached as I am to Lily, if someone contacts you who really does have £6m burning a 480-shaped hole in their pocket, feel free to point them my way

Even for 6 million Malawi Kwacha I am willng to depart from my car

But yes, solid examples are hard to find these days. Even in The Netherlands the source of cheap part donors is drying up, though sometimes a no-hoper pops up for little money.

And when the Netherlands starts to lose these cars forever, it is going to get harder and harder to keep the survivors we all have in good health...

Thats gumtree for you.

I have a few parts on just now and the responses remind me why I don't use it to sell. Really have to wonder if its worth the hassle.
