Possible sale of Celebration 467

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

Possible sale of Celebration 467

Post by dcwalker » Sun Jun 07, 2020 9:12 am

Just a heads-up at this stage - it's likely I will be selling my Celebration Nilani, number 467, very soon. Reasons are primarily space and the need to rationalise the fleet since it is about to grow again due to the need to have at least one practical car.

If and when she goes up for sale I will of course do a proper post, but if anyone thinks they might be interested do let me know. Asking price is likely to be around the £1,000 mark.

A couple of recent photos attached, just as a taster!

Just a thought (coming from the "for sale expert" )

But I'd potentially have that price as "people on here" price. Throw something on CarandClassic, or eBay with double the figure. Treat them both as a shopwindow...

Sorry to hear this, she looks very straight indeed!

I presume that if she does have to go it won't be the last of you on here?

What are you thinking of getting as a "practical" car? :D

He's still got his gorgeous green GT (until he finally realises it would be better off with me), so he'll definitely still be around!

Thanks all!

The "practical car" has now joined the fleet in the shape of a rather smart V50. Pics will follow when I am not on my phone...

Ben - have no fear, I shall still be here as always. I am NOT going 480-less, having tried that before!

Norm, I probably am mad but if I keep 4 cars they won't get enough use each. Thanks for the swap offer, but...

Jeff - I'll leave you the GT in my will

I was thinking, Jeff - rather than waiting for me to die and you to get the GT under my will, and knowing what an enthusiast you are for the big money asking prices that seem to be in vogue at the moment, offer me £8,500 and the GT can go to her rightful home, and I get to hang on to the Celebration too. How does that sound? ;)

Well, that was easy!

Tomorrow, Nilani is heading back across the Pennines to where she came from last year - yes, Martin is taking her back :D

Hopefully he'll continue to post on her progress...

To be honest, as soon as David hinted at the possibility, there was only one possible destination in my mind :D

Plus, if course, I was desperate to rejoin the Celebration register ;)

Now all I need is my original white ES back, and I'll have enough cars & colours for a flag parade at the next meet.

Thanks to David for your marvellous stewardship of a fine rare old car. Looking forward to posting updates & of course to driving Nilani.

I like the idea of a flag parade, and with red white and blue we could do our own take on the Italian Job

I have to say though what I'd be really looking forward to, Martin, is seeing how you drive all three cars at the same time!

I speak from experience.... it's easy!

(because only 1 of the 3 will ever be in a driveable state at any point in time)

Ahh...I'm worried now - I've got two eminently driveable 480s sitting here side by side in the rain, one to go off to Blackburn and one to take me back home. Does that make me some sort of freak??? ;)

The sale to Martin (congrats), has foiled my grand plan of having two 480s without swmbo knowing. They are both burgundy N reg cars and because she does not look at cars too closely I had a chance she would not notice! Unlikely I know but you never know!!

Damn.
Just as missing my old Celebration gets too much and I start to think about getting another, I miss out on one from the same fella who I gave my last one to :cryhard:

Hammers can't fix a 480!!!
