Celebration 403

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

About the car with only 77 kms on it, that car is officially registered as "destroyed" by Volvo and has no VIN nor registration papers, nor it has received any of the updates in the electrical system, i.e. it will probably have lots of faults and niggles which were common with the first cars produced. It went for 4300 pounds at an auction in the UK to a Spanish car trader who offered it for 10k and now it sits in the exclusive car department of a Volvo dealership in Belgium for almost 20k euro. So the price has quadrupled, without any added value.
Since it has officially been scrapped, it will be very hard to get it registered, if at all. There were more cars like these around, they've been used in schools as demonstration car for students in automotive engineering. They've either been torn up for (as good as new!) pieces or you had to find a donor car, cut out the VIN and weld it into the school car, thus assuming the identity of the donor car. Obviously this would render a car like the abovementioned one almost worthless and it is forbidden by law.

The actual winning bid was at £ 4725 plus applicable fees. This is what I found in the Dutch forum (translated by me)

]"This 480 with identification number XLBEX143EGC5000184 has been sold in the UK at an auction on April 25, 2018. It's a 1986 car which has never been registered, had 59 kms on the clock at the time of auction. In the end, the hammer went down at 4725 pound. With exchange rate, VAT and auction fees this car would be at 6500 euro. I thought this was a bit too steep for a car which has to be kept indoors (not possible to register) and I subsequently quit bidding. :) There were some things to be noted on this 480, the VIN plate in front was missing and the off side mirror was damaged."

The serial number is 184 so it's definitely a pre-production car (below 300).
