I was at Lake's Autos the other day and they told me they had a 1987 480ES coming to them.
Although nothing was agreed, they said they would assess it before scrapping it. They aren't particularly sentimental about old Volvos, but he seemed to be considering selling it whole.
The only problem is that they do have mad ideas on what whole cars are worth, which is a shame. For example, they have a complete low mileage S model in white which they want thousands of pounds for-- it's maybe worth £1000 with an MOT in my opinion.
It can't be me this time so I thought I'd post up here and see if anyone wants a project, if the car seems saveable and doesn't have a stupid asking price!
A little bit of me was excited incase it was another red one with CPV in the registration making it another launch car.
I'll call back in a few days to see whether or not they've got it yet.

I think this is the problem we are going to really start seeing now - sillier and sillier money being demanded as the cars get rarer and - at long last - positive interest in them seems to be growing.
If it is worth it I do hope someone can save it! Can't be me either as I have just saved one up here...
And James - you must resist, even if it is a red CPV

Y, we saw the white S at Lakes several years ago. I asked if they were breaking it and was told no, it was a £3000 car. It looked more like 300 to me as the condition wasn't great. I suspect they will have it years more unless they drop the price dramaically.
