Re: Wanted crankcase recirculating valve
It is unlikely you're going to find one. You can upgrade and replace with some Audi parts.

Re: Wanted crankcase recirculating valve
I don't understand why a turbo valve acts as a satisfactory substitute for a breather - and may be why people have reported problems when fitting it.
When my breather fell apart, I could not get a new one and studied how it worked internally. Volvo stated that it had been calibrated inside, so I am unsure why fitting a turbo recirc valve can be seen as anything less than a bodge. I could be wrong but nobody could give me any satisfactory answers.
I have integrated a standard VW/Audi breather on my Turbo, so that the internal diaphragm valve is open when there is negative pressure in the inlet manifold (idling and overrun conditions) which allows only partial breathing to take place - as the valve itself is calibrated, although I recall the internal calibration hole is slightly bigger than the Volvo one - but it is the nearest I could find. Under boost, the valve closes and passes any blow-by gases into the turbo, as designed originally.
The car only passed its MoT today and I have covered a mere 40 miles in it, so I cannot confirm if it works effectively. As yet, I have not noticed oil being forced out of oil seals, etc, but a long motorway drive will confirm if the trick works. I will then share it openly.

Re: Wanted crankcase recirculating valve
Thanks James,
However that post refers to the non return valve connected to the idle controll valve.
The valve that I am looking for is the one that is inside the foam cilinder just next to it.
The valves are quite different.

Re: Wanted crankcase recirculating valve
Assuming you are talking about Part 1 it is turbo specific and is a valve. If you are talking about part 8 it is the same part for all petrol engines across the whole 400 range and is an Oil Separator that attaches to the block.
Not got a turbo but I think both are under the foam.

Re: Wanted crankcase recirculating valve
They are obsolete - used ones are usually knackered anyway. If you find some new ones, let me know!
I had to make my own using these parts:
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Engine-Block ... %7Ciid%3A1
and
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VW-AUDI-1996 ... SwcgNZGg9a
plus some hose. I calculated these would perform closest to Volvo's specs. However, I have only driven the car for around 50 miles, so maybe it is a bit early to judge if it has been a success.
I can try and post pictures on one of the FB groups to show the installation, if it helps.
