Contact Reel NEEDED ASAP

Hello,

My 480 failed the MOT due to SRS light staying on. My local garage has had a look and says the contact reel is the cause so I need to find one asap. Does anyone have one??

No idea - I might ring Volvo tomorrow though, worth an ask.

The 440/460 from MY 1994 onwards have the same airbag system, back in the days when it wasn't made out of unobtainium, it was 125 Euro a piece already...
But I can design a circuit that lights the SRS lamp for a moment and then turns off, so the MOT technician will be tricked to believe the airbag system is functional. (Same you can do for faulty ABS units)

Rachel I have just replied via FB, sorry don't have one despite having boxes full of stuff.

Thank you for the reply Rob. I will keep searching for a bit. I could do with it very soon though as me MOT retest is only 10 days

TBH , not reqd , remove teh bulb.

ABS warning light must come on, then not be on when in use.

SRS MoT ' does not illuminate' nowt about coming on then going off

Great! Just take the bulb out and you'll be OK for MOT

Hiya - thank you so much but I do now have one from a 440. Not fitted yet but looks to be in good condition.
