1995 2.0 Celebration for sale - Newcastle Upon Tyne

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

1995 2.0 Celebration for sale - Newcastle Upon Tyne

Post by MichaelL » Tue Sep 08, 2015 10:52 am

Hi folks,

I am looking to sell a much known car to this forum - J99WJB, 1995 480 2.0 CELEBRATION in red/maroon. 100,000 miles. Location - Newcastle upon Tyne

Lovely car, great to drive and has been 100% reliable to me. Very clean and tidy for age. Owned for last two years and used everyday. A usable modern classic. Reason for selling is the need for something bigger for the family (bought an X type estate) .

Good points:
Very tidy clean interior
Mostly rust free...
All electrics work
Mechanically excellent - engine great, serviced 4000 miles ago with magnatec oil used.
Stainless steel exhaust (nice sound :D )

Bad points:
MOT runs out in two months
Small patch of corrosion on passenger sill that will need sorting for MOT
Very bottom of passenger rear arch has started to go - easy fix
SRS light on (needs reset from removing steering wheel to try non airbag one)
Dent on passenger wing (easy fixable)
Some other age related marks, scratches, etc

Very tidy car, with some paintwork sorted it would be a minter - great winter project for shows??

EDIT:
NOW MOT'd and ready to go.....

Small patch to passenger sill done and all painted up - looks great!!!

Photos available on request

Thanks, Michael

I'm off to tell Dave Poppy is for sale again.

He never did get over it!

Hammers can't fix a 480!!!

Bugger, bugger, bugger!

Yes, I loved this car and very much regretted selling it. :wall:

I need to put some proper thought into this, truly tempted as this was a lovely car.

Damn
Poppy sold 2 year ago, sorely missed :(

Genuine interest only please, if nobody on here contacts me I will be fixing the corrosion/SRS light and putting it in for an MOT, then sticking it on ebay hoping for more money!!
pull the bulb out from the SRS light, much easier than mucking about with new air-bag / steering wheel etc :D

see a post on other thread the SRS light is NOT a fail if it 'isn't on' ONLY a fail if it IS on !

Davey, hope you are well!!

You know the car better than anybody.....

The rust is in all the places that it was when I bought it, just worse after 2 years of use...

The dent on the wing is a shame (happened in a car park, no idea what hit it), but is fixable, or wings do pop up on ebay now and then cheap.

I tried fiddling around with the diagnostic box led button thing a while back before the last MOT but couldn't get it reset, maybe someone with a bit more patience could do it... To be honest I never wanted a 20yr old airbag blowing up in my face in a crash.... :?

pull the bulb, sorts MoT issue

Pull the wire below steering wheel, (yellow one with green connector) sorts the 'accidental' triggering :-)

Hey Michael,

Yes I'm well, hope the car has been as good to you as it was to me :)

I'll be honest, I'm still a tiny bit tempted to be 'reunited' as much as I know it's a bad idea as I already have 3 cars, this was just a cracker!

Hmph :(

Pistonheads advert with pics I took this weekend....

Very small patch on sill all sorted for MOT + stonechipped and painted up now.

Passed MOT fine with one advisory for rear tyres which will need replacing in next few 1000 miles.

Up for a healthy £1499 ONO (now I've spent a fair bit of dosh getting it MOTd...) but would love it to go to an enthusiast so open to any realistic offer from you guys....
