Looks nice....I did a double take at the number plate as it is similar to the black one Jim is selling (hopefully to me :hopping: )

...and on Gumtree:

Nice colour although dented according to description. Only 12 turbos left in the UK?? On the road with autos maybe...

I used to own (amongst several other 480's) a black 480 Turbo auto about 5 years ago with the registration M767 SUD. Not this one on eBay, but another similar numberplate. Just wondered if this could now be in Jim's hands!? I know there were a lot of SUD's out there though.

Drew, I know mate, I am a fan of autos. Your white one looks clean by the way - I saw the advert on Car & Classic. I am trying to sell two cars right now, very little interest maybe due to time of year or petrol prices.....or maybe it's just that no-one likes the cars that I do

Ben, see page 7 of GlasgowJim's 'Quick Decline into the life of a 480 owner' thread.....that is the car I was referring to....I guess 'SUD' was Scotland area.

Ah - that's a different one again then. Under the 'old' (pre-2001) registration system, the last two letters could be used to identify where the car was registered. See here for a list of places. It looks like ending in "UD" was located in Oxford. I'm guessing there was a particularly successful Volvo dealership there!

No drew, that's Turbo autos with sunroofs still taxed with 14 sorned which I presume your's is. So 31 Turbo autos with S/Rs and 14 total autos without S/Rs.
All together there are 101 480 turbos (including manuals) left taxed and 93 sorned so they are in no way a rare car yet but when you look back and realise there was once 3500 Turbos on the road in 95 it's quite worrying!

Looks pretty tidy, and fairly rare in green.

It needs a couple of tail-light bulbs though, should be good for a few hundred quid off!! ;)

Looks quite smart though, plus it's a dealer, he's got to feed his kids somehow! They're playing silly buggers with the arch pics though, look at the 2nd one (driver's rear) there's clearly rust coming through just out of shot to the right!

I'll be asking more than that for mine when the time comes!

called back, nice guy had plently of info to give about the car...

Previous owner had it about 4 years, so plenty of history during this period, and some early service history but a gap in the middle so not FSH. Arches have been repaired.

When I am back in the area I'll go and have a look - if it is still there cos that is a while away yet

(I didn't try and knock him down about tail lights...I'm no wheeler dealer :))
