FOR SALE - 1995 'M' VOLVO 480 TURBO - Glasgow

Post by piper1st » Sun Apr 06, 2008 8:17 pm

hello,

Well it's a sad time, but all good things must come to an end! My trusty 480 turbo is for sale!

Image

I changed jobs in Febrary and now walk/underground to work! This means i am now only doing about 2k miles a year, so with mpg no longer a concern, i can be as extravagant as i like, i'm now thinking of something very impractical, probably something japanese with 4x4! ;)

I love 480's (never owned anything else), and since new, it has been very well looked after!

Being this is a manual 'M' plate turbo, this is an excellent opportunity to own a future classic!

Mods:

Clifford Remote central locking alarm.
New bilstein sports shocks on front
New KYB sports shocks on rear
New 30mm Lesjofors lower/stiffer springs
15in taurus turbo alloy wheels
Full leather interior - same as celebration (rare)
Front fixed focus fog lights (only on late models)
Rear parcel shelf with 6x9's (custom made)
Replaced Rear sidemarkers and tinted black.
New proformance sports cat + new lambda sensor
Official Volvo Child safety seat fitments with manual etc. (worth £335)
Very good condition matching Toyo Tyres front
Very good condition matching champion tyres rear

Good points:

3 months MOT - actually thought it was 4 months until i dug out the paper work.
Uses absolutely no oil or coolant!
2 sets of official volvo keys and 2 x alarm fobs
very desirable 'Dark Grey Metallic' (code 323) rare - only on 1995 models
Done 121k genuine miles - Cam Belt just changed (111k)
Full comprehesive service history (i mean EVERY stamp and receipt - see below)
All electrics work inc. infor centre, mirrors, windows, heated seats, etc.
All interior bulbs fully functional
No leaks inside the car!
New battery
New Altinator + Regulator
Had replacement rear clusters and centre section - best i've ever seen! (£309.08)
Had replaced tailgate window apperture seal
Goes really well, really strong engine/box!!
Never missed a beat/broken down at all!!
Great on fuel!!
front Turbo spoiler!
Original 1995 User Manual - radio, motor plan premier warranty, the lot!
Original Volvo Service book - Service stamps and receipts to prove works and checks
Original Volvo radio - with code

Not so good points:

some surface rust on n/s rear wheel arch (as do all 480's)
obviously some stone chips
Leather interior is imaculate except tear on driver side seat, could easily be repaired.

If i can think of anything else, i'll add it in.

Full volvo service history, with thousands of pounds worth of volvo receipts, from new sub frame and 2 full exhaust systems, right down to DRL bulbs, wiper blades ... truely fascinating!

600 mile check

I really could bore you all night!

Price wise, i think £1,000 is fair, given the extensive service history, all the new parts/upgrades and all the work i've put into it!

This is a beauty! Thats a cracking price too for a late car. Alot of people seem to be over pricing these days for distinctly average cars whereas this is a well priced beauty. Good luck! If I had sold my Saab over Easter I would have bought her, but after several long journeys in total comfort, I can't bear to part with the beast :)

Thanks for all your kind words guys ... it was really difficult to start this thread, i did have 2nd, 3rd and 4th thoughts looking at the pictures!

I've been racking my brains of other points to add in ...

The 6x9's are top quality Infinity speakers and the front's have been upgraded to Alpine's. I currently have an amplifier in the boot, i will leave the wiring in or remove it at the buyers request.

The user manual still contains the original Clifford Alarm manual and also an official copy of the full wiring diagrams.

in the 3rd picture beside the rear marker you can see a wee 'ding'. I've always thot it would 'pop out', but never had anyone look at it.

I was planning on buying one this easter but never sold my Saab 9000 so decided to keep the Saab. They are meant to be pretty fun though!

Hi, Nope, no cupholder or roller blind cover ... but who wants a roller blind cover when you have a custom parcel shelf! ;)

It's the full leather Celebration interior, like this one ...

Image

Which reminds me ... it also has the lockable glove box and rear centre armrest.

(proper photo's will follow!)

Well, here are the long awaited photo's specifically showing the cars imprefections.

These are brutally honest photo's taken today and un edited!

First off ... the rear lights ...

Image

The picture below shows the off side rear wheel arch which has only just very recently shown a bubble.

Image

The below picture shows the near side rear wheel arch with the rust on the arch and the ding ... (the small white line is not a scratch, but bird doo!) ...

Image

Below is a picture of my custom made rear parcel shelf which will be included in the sale, followd by two more pics ...

Image

Image

Image

The following picture are of the interior.

I will be keeping the stereo, but the original Volvo standard stereo will be included in the sale, or a kenwood tape player with a 10 disc cd changer could be negociated. Note the uprated speakers.

Image

Image

Please note the rear centre armrest is lockable with the standard volvo ingnition keys ...

Image

The below photo show's the tear in the drivers seat. You don't see it when you get in, but you do see it from the passenger side as the photo shows ...

Image

Sorry, it was quite a dull day, so the photo's don't really do the paint work the justice it deserves! Remember, it isn't a brand new car, so it does have the odd scrape's and chips as you would expect.

Other things to add ... the dummy rear fog light has been replace so both are fully functional. Brand new heater sliders.
