L Reg 480ES Paris Blue 2.0 for sale.

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

L Reg 480ES Paris Blue 2.0 for sale.

Post by freck » Mon Jan 30, 2006 10:35 am

Hi,
I'm having to sell my 480ES to make way for a more practical car! :(
It's a 1994 2.0L ES in Paris Blue with half leather/Jacquard cloth trim. Has a few spares included too (brake pads, spare fog lights, spare door card etc)
6 months MOT and taxed till the end of Feb.
Now she's not the prettiest example and could benefit from a little TLC but there's no rusty arches, she's recently had a complete new clutch and she starts and runs fine.
If anyone is interested and wants some more info, then please send me a message and I'll try to give as much info as possible, I'll also try to get some pictures together ASAP.
I'm not asking for the earth for her - I was hoping for around £300 - but am open to offers.
Cheers! :D

OK guys, here's a bit more info for those of you who've shown an interest. :D
MOT is valid until September 1st 2006, tax runs out at the end of Feb.
Mileage is 92622 with service history up to 79766 miles.
Almost all the electrics work including the speedo, info centre etc however, there are a couple of electrical faults  The heated rear screen doesn't work although the CEM does bleep when the switch is held on.
Also, when I got home this evening after stupidly leaving the pop-ups up last night, I found that some f*#ker has tried to push them down (or kick them!) and has snapped the plastic hinge on the mechanism of the nearside light! The other one still works fine!

Bodywork isn't too bad, the rear arches are clean and there are just a couple of bubbles on the door bottoms. The rear bumper has been resprayed on one corner but the match isn't spot on.There are one or two scratches and minor car park type dings as expected with a car of this age, however, there is one large dent on the nearside sill which I can't account for as it was there when I bought the car. It doesn't affect the drive and hasn't distorted the door opening, and wasn't a concern at MOT time.

Hopefully, I'll be able to get some pictures taken this week but it's going dark when I get home so it may be Friday before I can post them here or mail them to interested parties.

I know this doesn't sound like a minter, and she's not, but she's a cheap runabout/project or a good source of spares. I'd ideally break her and make the money on eBay (like everyone else!) but don't have the time or space available to do it, so need to shift her fairly quickly. :(

Is the nearside light stuck up or down?

Is under the boot - where the spare tyre is - dry or is it like a fish pond?

The nearside light is unfortunately flapping about in the breeze now! I'm going to try and secure it tonight.

As for the boot, it's a little damp but nowhere near pond status!

Pics were taken today. Also there are 6 previous owners but I'm unsure of when the cambelt was last changed.
I've also spotted a mistake on my previous thread - Service history is actually up to 69766 miles only.

Far too cheap? Well I guess I am selling her a little cheaply but I really need to move her on. I did think the same thing once I'd seen the photos cos they do make the old girl look good!
I am obviously open to offers and the £300 is just the minimum I'm looking for really - I just need to break even on the Mondeo estate I've just acquired

If anyone wants to open the bidding.......... :D

Ooh er, someones upset!

Despite the little niggles Freck, i think that it was up too cheap. From the pictures it does look like a nice tidy motor. If it were mine, i'd have it up for at least £500-it's gotta be worth that!

Good luck anyways!
