1994 Volvo 480 Auction at Copart
Having seen a 440 last week, I thought I would have a look to see how much it went for. Then I saw a Volvo 480 on the Copart auctions in Sandwich. It is a 1994 2.0 ES with only 57000 miles. The rear arches look clean as do the rear lights. At the moment it is selling for £200 and will probably be broken for spares. The auction is tomorrow 23/10/20 at mid day. The registration is:L378JHN and the car is white , does anyone know it? The engine bay looks immaculate, but it has damage to the front, including the front bumper and wings. Could this be an R4?

O what a shame, looks like someone didn't mind the gap ! ! It's very short notice to get someone there to check out the wheel arches. Plus of course our hero Jeff doesn't do bodywork. Bad bits: - MoT history shows it's had corrosion problems round the suspension mounts and on the sills, and a new odometer around 2005/6 so the true mileage is anyone's guess.
Good bits: Nice half leather interior, although we can't see the driver's bolster. Rear lights look good and that registration must be worth a fair bit to anyone called John as well so sadly it probably will end up broken.

Re: 1994 Volvo 480 Auction at Copart
the damage is very strange - looks like someone had the doors open and rolled it back...
The positives are that it's unrecorded and doors and wings are bolt on parts...
However...
Centre cubby is buggered, dash surround cracked, rear seats showing the "Folded down on the seatbelt" imprint, meaning the leather is rock hard, NSF indicator looks smashed, the centre panel looks cracked too. I can see rot starting at the 2 o'clock position on the OSR arch, and the NSR looks grotty at the bottom. Its been de-badged too, along with a "K&N" filter fitted, leads me to suspect it's potentially had the start of modifications.
At the current price (£325, reserve not met) its already way more money than it should be. Rear lenses no longer hold the premium they once did. The leather is probably past it's best, which means the only real sellable bits are the front fogs and OSF DRL.
I'd pass.
