Volvo 480 2.0 Es for sale/split

Cleaned up the garage, found parts laying around, but it turned out to be a complete Volvo 480? If you want to sell your car (480 only) you can place an advert here.

Volvo 480 2.0 Es for sale/split

Post by Greg-Mitchell » Sat Aug 29, 2009 6:11 pm

Hi everyone, i'm a new member as i've only just found this website but i am currently selling/splitting (should enough interest arrise) my fathers 480.

My dad picked this car up around 3 years ago and ran it daily for a wee while, However, due to getting a new car its been sorned and has been sat in the driveway now for quite some time. Both of us have picked up project cars since the volvo so we haven't got the time to sort out it out.

It has the common issue of the lumpy idle, Which we have tried to sort with new injector rail, new ignition leads, new altenator, cleaned out idle valve and its just not going away so we've lost interest with it and its a shame to see it not getting the TLC it deserves.

I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.

Hi guys,

the brakes aren't seized as i ran it down to the bottom of the street to get it cleaned and that. It runs fine and can make it on its own steam to answer your email, However it is currently SORN'ed so it would really need trailered.

Core plugs are designed weaknesses in the engine block so that if the coolant freezes solid it will push the core plugs out . They are the size of a 2 pence piece or slightly smaller than an old penny (1d) you can see one on the picture of the block its in the lower left hand corner 4 o clock position the circular indent .
Oh one for you amazin in Lsd old money s came from solidarius and d from denarius what did L come from ? I am not a latin scholar I am afraid

It has not got a lumpy idle but is misfiring slightly , has a missing dummy foglight on rear bumper and high level brake light bulb needs replaced. Havent checked the sunroof yet. It is in very good condition havent been underneath yet but it is a very good drive. Well pleased with car. Even the wife who doesnt like black cars likes this shade of metallic black

So the first priority is to get the misfire sorted then if successful mot and sell on. Otherwise its getting stripped ;)

I'd love to hear how you have solved the misfiring issue once it will be done (got some on mine too :( )
