Hope you enjoyed the location anyway.... and "All That Jazz"!

Just a tip for the next time tho (re Groomz Things just aint what it used to be?? post) maybe dont leave it to the uber-noob to organise locations/ venues/dates etc

A bit more 480 internal organisation should be in order if the club is going to hold events and try to grow but who am I to comment? I've only just got here!

Wot no 480's?

Post by stu chacks » Fri Mar 10, 2006 12:05 am

Hmm, to be fair it wasn't billed as major 480 event, just local/minimeet, but for 2 cars out of a 'probable' 7 to show up is pretty poor.

With just 4 cars (7 people), the NWminimeet was good fun, but I would say that! When I was in the MG owners club, every area used to have monthly pub meets (hell of a lot more cars/members though), so one regional pub meet once a year should have been better attended I thought.

Think the motto is, don't say you'll do something unless your pretty sure you will, circumstances permitting. And that wasn't a dig at anyone, just am opinion.

Sorry to hear you had some bad news Revolution, bad timing at any time for that sort of thing. Hope your/s ok.

But let's move on and see if we can get 480 480's at Dan's big 20th birthday bash - spotlight on DAN! :D

Stu.

Sorry to hear that Trev

_____________________________________________________

Not having a go at anyone here but people obviously had their own reasons for not attending, not a problem, we still made a good couple of hours out of it, I'm sure that the next meet (wherever it is) will have a few more people there

For some people it was a long way to travel just for a couple of hours, and at the end of the day it was bloody cold, not the best weather for standing around outside looking at cars, I think it could of been a success if we'd done it between june and september - with warmer weather - no-one wants to freeze their ass off if they don't have to, including me

Don't worry about it, fun was had by us, and there's no point in us all pointing fingers at people just because something beyond their control prevented them from attending, as I said before - the next one will be better, lets all just think on where and when and try and learn the lesson that this one tried to teach us... Having a meet when it's bloody freezing don't work

Be happy folks
