Mini Meet 3, 2, 1 GOOOOOOOO

Post by Big Brother » Sun Dec 11, 2005 11:14 am

Just couldn’t think of a better title.

Mini meet was a great success big it up for da main man Stu for organising it and the pub quiz later.

Go-Karting was fantastic, couldn’t have had a better time there, only because I won :P

The overall final positions were:
1.Me :D
2.Andy (soon to be a 480 club member ;) Currently has a Saxo  )
3.Brasco
4.Tony
5.Sarah
6.Stu

Fastest lap times:
Stu: 32.62
Me: 32.86
Andy: 32.96
Brasco: 33.08
Tony: 35.00
Sarah: 37.69

Good/Bad list:
Good – Me – No Penalties
Good – Sarah – No penalties
Good – Tony –No penalties but did get 2 ‘Move Over’ signs
Bad – Andy – 1 black and white flag (personal warning)
Bad – Brasco – 3 black and white flags and a black flag (disqualification)
Bad – Stu – 2 black flags and 1 personal warning, plus loads of ‘No Contact’ signs

And the 480 pub quiz later was won by ME again! Only because I knew all 18 forums the club has, big it up to catgroom who sorted out our disputes about answers by checking on the forums for mine and Tony’s joining date as stu was supposed to be the quiz master but managed to get the answer to that wrong

Well it sure was a good day - even the weather was great (isn't it for all N.W meets!).

Well done to Ad for winning the carting, and the quiz(swot!), I think some 'non forum' questions might have to go in the next one as you had an unfair advantage there me finks.

Catgroom almost came a close second via live vidoelink when we needed the correct answers to one of the questions that must have been printed incorrectly by my pc..... ahem :liar:

At the carting I did get the fasted lap, oops sorry, I meant THE FASTEST LAP, but my cart didn't have ABS like the ES and unfortunatley I kept ramming into the back of people in the way which got me into a bit of bother with the marshalls. Brasco on the other had was getting bumped into the barriers by other people, but copping the blame, tough luck dude, we knew it wasn't your fault!

Good effort by WDragon with a 2hr drive up and some great stories in the boozer, and respect to Sarah for beating me in the carting :cryhard: , even although I did get THE FASTEST LAP.

Really nice day guys, looking forward to the summer meet, and not even a hangover after a few cheeky malts to finish the night off (oops, morning I meant 2am!)

PS - did I mention I got THE FASTEST LAP?

Stu.

Oh didn’t I mention in my OP Stu, I WON RACING :P

I did suggest paint balling for next time, it maybe a bit expensive but it is well worth it.

I never got black flagged. Only Andy and Stu were.
I had 3 b&W's... bloody marshalls b&w'ed ME when that prat barged me into the side barrier, saying I was trying to get through a gap that wasn't there... and the other 2 were for my experiment of seeing if you could get around the course without taking your foot off the accelerator. Had to be done.

We were under strict instructions to let you win, otherwise it'd take you ages to post the pictures.

what ever :P

The marshals did tell you to pass someone by going around them and not through them

The marshals also told you to stop revving while we were on the starters grid, they could smell something burning.

Right, had to put the record straight, I have to say a HUGE thanks to the Chacksfields for their genorous hospitality, and letting me stay over... hope I didn't snore too much!

Stu, for organising everything. Top Banana!

Was a great day, although I've had to put my belt one notch wider. Partly due to the bruising on my hips from the carting and partly from the humongous meal that was served at the restaurant... first time in a long time I've been unalble to finish a meal.
Fair play to Tony for finishing that 1lb Burger! It was a whole cow in a bap!

As I pointed out, I never realised that "Disco" Stu was short for "Disqualified"...

I'm still chuckling about the fact we had 2 Saxo drivers at a 480 meet. Andy and his missus have shattered my illusions that Saxo owners are all mad scallies! ;) We shall have to test out that VTS when I get my richmod

I hope everyone enjoyed themselves as much as I did! :D

Yes folks-great time had by all-well worth the drive up through the borderlands in wonderful winter sun both ways.

@Stu-fantastic hospitality and a big thank you to you and your good lady.Great organisation even down to the trick questions to get Catgroom and my daughter involved on phone-a-friend!
Also great to meet the Saxo branch-give them my regards-I'll have to get that bloody Bluetooth sorted tomorrow.
Was it you who had the FASTEST lap! :D

@Brasco-you were robbed, my son. The marshall needed an eyetest!

@Big Bro-congrats on your achievements, Ad. There is a masterplan being devolved at present to prevent a repeat on the next occasion
Great pics by the way-thank you and thanks to Sarah for her company as well.

As for me, not the quickest but first time out; totally alien to my normal style but enjoyed it immensely nevertheless so thanks for the invite. :D
