Hi Steve.

Well, i'd be up for it as you know. Could probably tempt me ol'man to come along as well in his 480. Just depends on how many other people would turn up!

With regards to a meeting place, i'm sure that could be finalised if this was to go ahead, but i know a better place which is always empty. It sounds a bit boy racer like but it would be ideal....B & Q car park! There's a massive section that never gets used!

Anyway, i'm getting carried away. Put me down! :D

Well, there is Pleasurewood Hills...bit of a kiddy/shite Theme Park. Erm...thats it! Could always have a wander round B&Q?!

And that really could be it...

Right.No.No.No.No.No.

This is just not going to attract even Alan Partridge to our meet!

This is currently whats going on for me-Im thinking we should go to a car related sales/museum type place...... Maybe somewhere that sells/shows some cars that appeal to folk like us who buy quirky unusual cars. There is a place in Stalham that always has an unusual collection for sale....

I will look up some more places.BUT,please do add your thoughts/comments as we go along so we can make this a good mini-meet.

Photo-shot areas are good I guess but are pose-and-go so need something more lengthy, like nice roads to have a good convoy and thrash about,I dunno!

Well, you can't go too fast 'cos i only have a humble 2 litre! What about meeting at the Lotus museum? It's around Norwich somewhere isn't it? Not sure about the road lengths around there for thrashing, er, i mean good convoy shots?

Just an idea. Cant really think of anywhere else! East Anglia is lovely if you want to retire though!

Did someone mention Lotus museum?!? If so def count me in guys, gotta be more tempting that driving 200miles to park in B&Q ;)

Was reading 'RetroCars' in the local library (WHSmiths) the other day, interesting mag if anyones into modified classics - couple of nice V8 Sunbeams (alpine/tiger) in there and early RX7. Wonder if there's been any 480's in there?

Yo Stu!No 480s have as yet been featured in Retro Cars.I take this publication (with my tea and a poo!) every fortnight along with Praccy Classics and Classics. No they havent is still the answer!!

Now then,Mark,a customer of mine actually designs for Lotus at Mulbarton. He has twice invited me to come to the factory for a look around. Not being ungrateful, but as I have never been a big fan of Lotus and not wanting to be a hypocrite,I have never visited.

When I know how many are coming to this meeting, date still needs suggesting from you all, then I can ask Mark again. He loves 480s and its one of the cars hes always wanted to own but hasnt yet.A road test in one of our cars could need to be on offer eh?!!!! :D

We'd be maybe interested, although I may struggle to get time off from work and familly! There is a car museum at Caister Castle, near Great Yarmouth.

Would anybody be up for a week-time meet? The problem i have is that i have to work weekends, whereas i'm much more flexible weektimes...

At least there's a few people interested in this rather 'local' part of the country anyway!

I'd be up for driving to Norwich to see the Lotus Museum, please don't shoot me but the Esprit Turbo is my #1 car of all time. I love my 480GT (respectible second). However it would be nice to do it with other people who appriciate cars such as yourselves. Weekday should be possible too.

A man with taste, Esprits, 480's and MGB_GT to boot!

They (Lotus club) have a fab Lotus meet at Donnington park every year with autojumble and stacks of Esprits (mainly early ones) along with all the Excels/Europas/etc. If you like Esprits, I think it's the largest gathering in Europe, well worth a ride over.
