And the best 480 is....

Post by iammart » Wed May 18, 2005 7:44 pm

Hi all,

Hope you don't think this is a sad idea, but how about having an informal mini-concours-type-competition at some of the bigger meets?

Just an idea from attending classic shows. Everyone's given a scorecard and gives points to everyone else's car for various categories, like interior, paintwork, engine bay, ICE, mods, loudness, wheels, anything you like! And the one with the most points gets a prize and kudos... until next time ;)

Just a thought & it gets everyone looking round and inspired to fix those little things they never get round to :D Or maybe no-one cares and I'll get me coat...!

Cheers,
Martin

The problem with that is, this isn't a competition!

I'm as happy to see a naff looking 480 that someone loves to bits and drives every day, as I am a perfect example that's stored in a garage ond only taken out to go to meetings.

I don't see the point / need for this personaly?

Fairy nuff... not being snobby tho, it was just a thought for a bit of fun to try if anyone was interested... safer comp than racing ;) I know everyone's enthusiatic about their cars :)

Con-cars....

I don't think it's such a bad idea Mart. Mine's just an everyday runaround, but would be nice to see who has a 480 as close to original showroom condition as poss. I'm sure there's plenty of people who's 480's get a lot more tlc than mine! Not sure if enough of them would be at a single meet to score though?

Good suggestion me finks, although can we have a 'working car' class for me to enter too plse?
Stu.

Yes well i used to think my 480 was in nice condition until i saw adam's celebration in the days before it was allowed out of dragon's garage, and an even more imaculate ES which i sold some glass to (27k and only taken from the garage when conditions were dry) eek!

Now i think its pretty average really, but i'd not swap it for anybody's 480.
