Hampshire meet up in the Winchester area

Is this potentially of interest to anyone? Ellie's keen to meet other 480 owners as sadly she had to turn back in Belgium last Friday on the way to the European meeting due to steering problems.

Duncan is in Basingstoke and has had his white 480 from new. He's keen too.

I am in Fareham. So Winchester is pretty central in the county and just off the M3 so accessible from other areas too. Obviously everyone is welcome who would like to join in.

I was thinking of a Sunday in July - possibly the 28th? It's the day after the Festival of the Unexceptional in Lincolnshire.

Any suggestions for a good meeting place and route to follow?

I am based about an hour east of Winchester along the A272 and would love to meet fellow 480's there - we have entered ours into the Festival of the Unexceptional but don't yet know if we have been accepted....! If not then a Winchester meet would be good.

I have not entered my 480 GT - I just plan to attend the festival and then drive home to Fareham via the Winchester area meet up the next day. I am planning a reccy of the Winchester area soon.

I think I saw you driving through Stockbridge the other day! It was massively ironic as I had just switched to my 1986 Audi 80 Sport and was driving back to uni when what did I see? A Volvo 480 Turbo. Never happens and I was in the wrong car

Well I hear there is a new Caffeine and Machine at Meon Cross if that interests you, I have never been a fan of the place - attracts far too many remapped BMWs but I guess it is a good location?

I have not been into the new Caffeine and Machine but I wasn't a huge fan of the old one for the same reasons as you. The A32 is a lovely drive during the week BUT on a Sunday afternoon is always full of cyclists, motorbikes and cars which means it's often not much of a fun drive.

I will reccy the Winchester area and try to find somewhere that works. It's also probably a more accessible location for anyone coming in from Basingstoke, down the M3 or from south Wiltshire or east Dorset.

Yes you probably did! We love Stockbridge and were there for a quick lunch at The Greyhound on our way back from a couple of days in Wales with friends - all car nuts so we had a motley collection of a new Mini, 2 Alpha Romeo 2000's, an old Bentley and little ole us
