2023 meets? Cambridge proposal
Are there any meets in the pipeline? I'm itching to get out, explode my cooling system and go home, as is tradition!
Even maybe a curry out one lunchtime or evening near me in Cambridge? I think I could arrange this and get a field nearby; but Sylvia's mega missions that she does would be beyone me! Looking forward to another one later in the year.
Maybe the village hall with a litle repair shop (TM, Jeff), curry house in two doors down, leave fat and happy later

Re: 2023 meets? Cambridge proposal
I have been thinking it's about time I sorted dates for this year. With several new young members handy for the Hampshire run, but constrained by university dates, I'm thinking maybe mid July for that one.
Usually our first meet is in May and I had in mind to do the Rutland/Lincolnshire Wolds then.
A Cambs meet sounds perfect for you James, it would be so nice if you didn't end up going home before you even arrived. If you'd like to organise something please do, Al and I will definitely come.
We have so far had a disastrous 2023 - house related rather than 480. There is still a load to do before we are back to our normal chaos so we wouldn't be able to sort out any new venues.

Be rude for me not to as it's only up the road...
Just like a broken record; can't promise it will be in a 480 though

Maybe the village hall with a little repair shop (TM, Jeff) with curry delivered so we don't have to even move? cos you know that "5 minute job" suddenly drops out of the space/time continuum and suddenly its very dark and people are looking nervously at their watches.jamescarruthers wrote: ↑Tue Feb 28, 2023 9:05 amAre there any meets in the pipeline? Deffo not in a 480 but being fat and happy sounds 50% better than my current state. A day in a Cambridge sounds a do-able distance for me/us.

Be great to meet everyone! Unfortunately I won't be able to attend any meets until late June/early July due to exam commitments.

Good idea James, and the workshop approach especially. Bit of a haul but if available I'll be up for it, certainly!

Re: 2023 meets? Cambridge proposal
I'd be down to make it, my schedule currently is exams finish end of May, off to Le Mans for 10th June, then a short gap between then and going to Denmark for the month of July. August is looking free, and I think I have a gap in April I can do. Can't promise it will be a 480, but currently it has been filling for me while the B2 is getting wheel bearings sorted out and is doing that very well - I have missed driving it, even if it still doesn't quite track straight (suspect I need to rebuild the whole front suspension to actually sort it)
Current Jobs to do (23/1/22):
Fix Central Locking
Fix drivers side speaker
Annoying Scratching Squeak
Water leaks
Complete Front O/S rebuild

Re: 2023 meets? Cambridge proposal
Living up in Northumberland puts Cambridge out of my range in the 480, even Lincolnshire wolds are a good 200 mile drive although probably doable at a push !
Are there ever meets a bit further north ?

Is this still a thing?
Would like to get a date in the diary. Weekends are filling up fast. Roll on summer...

Sorry to have whetted your appetite and then not followed through. I'll look in to dates with my village hall when I get a minute.
