A couple of outstanding jobs I want to do on my 480.

Get the fog lamps back on, one mounting tab broke when removing the rotten bumper.

The rear arch I did last year needs some filling and work to make it look better, I have managed to get a can of storm grey so should get it looking more passable.

CD changer mounted under the seat, currently it lives in the rear cubby so would like that space back.

Carpet out deep clean. fit the new front speakers and door card clips.

Would be good to figure out whats going on with my aircon, the componets seem to work and it holds gas. I tried it last when the temperature was high enough but could do with a step by step guide to faulting it.

No comment

Don't worry, I've got enough bits here to build another few cars from scratch but no scales big enough to fit that lot on!

Here's me wondering which of these I'll be needing first this afternoon...

Image

As for projects... well, I think we can agree I’ve already got enough! This weekend was going to be spent doing the rear brakes on the green car but the discs have failed to arrive. Still, doesn’t stop jacking it up, changing the fuel filter and discovering what other bodges the “specialists” have previously done!

Hello All!

Sorry to be late arriving and I hope everyone is well :D

I am a bit bogged down today in various matters that I won't go into, but hopefully I can join in a bit more fully later on...

Meanwhile, a couple of the latest photos (sorry, a couple of weeks ago) just to "drive in" - first Lily, showing off her rear lights that received a lot of polishing attention recently:

dc's pic of Nilani has the wing mirrors looking like they're perched on top of the headlamps - look just like a pair of warts !

Here’s my project:
As Snazzy is both ‘just’ an ES and very high mileage (230k), she is the least valuable of our 480s so she is going ‘non standard’ in some respects. I’d like to copy this idea on the headlights:
Image

So, what to use to blackout the headlamps ? It’s just a photo found on the internet so I can’t ask. There’s lettering underneath so I think it must have been done with signwriter’s vinyl laminate but is that heat resistant? Would it peel? Did they just do this for the photos?
Maybe it would be better to add a piece of black metal to the frame, or some sort of heat resistant plastic or fibreglass or is there a paint that would both take on glass without peeling and resist heat ???

We’ve turned interesting drink into interesting snack – Al asked for ‘a scone’ with his coffee in an Irish hotel and this is how it came:

well it was Ireland....

Afternoon challenge:

Inspired by a member on here who called his 480 Turnip, because it wasn’t quite a Swede

What’s a good name for a 480 and why ? Answers to me by pm, deadline 6pm

NB I'll extend the morning challenge deadline to 6pm as well, as quite a few of us couldn't get online this morning.
