2005 Lincolnshire Meet Photos.

In other news; talking about the 2005 meet yesterday, lightbulb moment... when I got home I thought about my email address from a decade ago....put it into Photobucket with the password I used for everything and found all the photos!

Regs I can see:
The paris blue AWU is my first ES, I bought it for £995 in 2005 and I sold it around 2007 to local man for £295 (couldn't give it away!). He obviously gave up on it at the next MOT having hardly done any miles in it at all himself.

The ANG plate is now on a BMW.

Maroon (Celeb?) VFC was MOT'd in August with 230k on it.

YLP looks like a gonner in 2009 with 125k on it.

LMJ (a turbo) is alive and very well indeed with, possibly, just 12k on it but looks SORN (hopefully) having just ran out of MOT on 5 October. I have looked on the members list with that registration date (31/12/95), although this is the least likely thing to be inputted but easiest to search, and reg but no sign on there. Now that would be a five grander!

PCW (GT?) looks like another scrapped one, 140k and probably had it in 2012.

So, not all bad!

The couple (lady in red jumper) I think came from the Netherlands.

Brilliant!

I don't know whether to be sad at seeing so many lovely 480s 14 years ago that have now gone off to the big garage in the sky, or pleased to know that at least some of them are still going strong! :?

O, how very odd that your pics were still on photobucket after all the ones that have vanished off the forum with their change to paid membership.

The maroon one is interesting on two fronts. Firstly 230k is exactly the same mileage as my 2 litre, currently sitting in a much more expensive body shop than our usual one. The estimate was horrendous, but the work is a very high standard as recommended by our pedantic repairman who is only interested in perfect ! Hopefully VFC has found an excellent home with someone else determined to keep one going. Secondly I shall be interested to see if it is a Celeb to add to the register - maybe it will pop up at the Volvo 600 next year so I can get the full details.
Thanks for sharing those Edie, really interesting

O dear, VFC is actually an S despite the colour. We have just established that dcwalker's Nilani sits very neatly in the expected position on the Celebration register - he's pleased she isn't another oddity, and I'm pleased to have another snippet of information. win-win on that one

Those are definitely Vesa wheels on PCW but long gone so can't confirm it was a GT. Edie, do you not recall the poke-in-the eye interior though ? Al and I both hated it when we bought Sven, and it still doesn't appeal to us although the uniqueness does. I have to admit it gives us a buzz when we take it to the foreign meets and get people eagerly wanting to photograph it.

My ideal afterlife in heaven is meeting up with all my favourite cats of the past and having loads of 480s to play with - of course all restored to youthful condition, along with me !

I made the effort (changed websites!) and on cartaxchecker, PCW does show as a GT. I spent quite a large portion of yesterday scouring the interworld for that 12k Turbo though! I came across some hidden gems on our roads, low miles and still on the road wise. I must have inputted about 5,000 registrations! I also found a diesel 480 (say the DVLA-but listed correctly on other sites).

I also forgot too, was it a common thing that some cars were listed as GT on the V5 but were 'just' an ES? As I looked at my old red one (an M 2L ES) and it is listed as a GT (M314 NJA). I found photos of when I sold that too on there.....this interior.

I have just found this website for current photo sharing....can't work out if I can put them directly on posts though....seems not as I try all the options!

That old PB account would probably blur any photos I try to put full images on a post I think as, yes, it'll now be too many photos, but images still in my library I can download from there. :)

The thing I've found with photobucket, is that if you download the image, it displays correctly (no watermarking or anything). I'd recommend pulling everything from photobucket so you've got a personal copy!

Slightly tenuous, but trust me the cat is just out of sight on this great shot and is about to cause chaos in about two seconds!‎

Sylvia,

Can't remember if I ever told you or not, I used to own "M523 XSC" celebration number 033, flame red manual, see below for the only picture I have! Bought it in Stonehaven in early-mid 2014, then sold after doing nothing with it maybe a year and a half or so later? Can't quite remember. It was before I got 'properly into' 480's. I sold it to a lad from the black isle in Scotland, he got it back on the road for around a year, but since 2017 its been out of MOT, unfortunately, don't have contact details any more

Wonderful shot, James, is the peacock yours ? Or have to moved to India ? I can just imagine the cat's utter fury at finding it in his (her?) territory

Thanks Fraser, every snippet helps paint the picture. Pity I can't find a way to access chassis numbers online, but if the car has been scrapped, dvla haven't been told.

No, the peacocks (there are two, one male, one female) belong to a neighbour. They're pretty but bloody noisy sometimes. An eternity can go past and we never see/hear them... then they decide to come along to ours and loose one another and scream and shout for days. Funny creatures, quite thick I think. ‎

Ha, finally got a pic of Willow going to investigate Lily (or rather try to sneak into the forbidden garage). Lily was waiting for Al to change her washer bottle - the warning light has been on for several weeks and topping up made no difference. Luckily the sender in the replacement tank is working so the annoying light has finally gone out. I will appreciate it in the spring - she's sorned now and will get tucked up tomorrow.

I have my own set of photos from that meeting. Can pretty much name everybody too...haha. Big photo of my arse!

Not my car though...but L904 FCW was there.

I unofficially own it again as of yesterday, but some reassembly is required!!! (And it was rusting a bit in 2005...so bodywork likely, though its been dry stored.
