Have now done the route in Google Maps (URL link available) or converted it into .gpx format which is suitable for many SatNavs.

PM me if you need it!

Now planning to meet up with everyone at the Rutland Water stop and continue on from there.

Hopefully Sharon and Rod will also be coming. Can't get hold of Rod currently so not confirmed.

Sylvia - Where do you meet up at Rutland Water? Is it the car park for the Harbour Cafe?

Will probably be there from 11:30 on.

Looking forward to it. Weather promising too! :D

Rutland Water details
ETA 12.00
In Oakham, follow A6003 to a roundabout where the A606 turns right & take
third exit to A606
At Whitwell, turn right into Bull Brigg Lane which leads directly to carparks on the edge of Rutland Water.

a. If weather is fine, we’ll do photos first. Go through the ticket barrier and turn right into a carpark which runs down to the edge of the water where we can line the cars up for photos with Rutland Water as a background
b. If it’s raining we’ll continue to The White Horse, 2 Main Street, Empingham, LE15 8PS (just carry on along the A606 approx 2 miles and you’ll see the pub on the left) There is a decent size carpark at the back. They do a good range of sandwiches and maybe the sun will shine by the time we’ve eaten.

See you there, and fingers crossed Rod and Sharon can join us.

Thanks Sylvia.

Rod's a no but Sharon's a go! We're convoying from Suffolk.

See you Saturday.

The Royal Oak have just rung to ask for menu choices, so those coming for the evening meal please look at the Main Menu here
https://www.royaloaksplash.co.uk/restaurant/

I need to know by Friday morning. Anyone not sure if they are coming - no problem, they can always squeeze a few extras in at short notice but menu choices for if you make it would be helpful.
cheers
Sylvia.

Will start with pate, then do bacon liver and onions.
Deserts will probably be cheesecake!

The GT and I are having a slight disagreement:

Fortunately I had a feeling this would happen so I preemptively took the day off. Not sure which car I'll be in tomorrow but I'll get there one way or another!

The whole car has been off the road for a while (coolant leak, now fixed with a new pump) and I've been daily driving it this week to bring any niggles to the surface, which turned out to be the near-side pop-up not working and the info centre being completely dead. I can do without them for driving to work and back but didn't feel like Oxford to Lincolnshire and back with no fuel gauge, no temperature readings and manual-only wind-up headlights was a good idea.

I'm very relieved to say that I've just come in from re-assembling everything and it's all working again, so a fairly good day's work in my opinion! I'll do a write-up in my thread in due course as I found a few interesting bits and pieces.

That's a relief, I'm looking forward to 4 green GTs !!!

Apart from being asked this morning for lunchtime menu choices, my last minute hiccup was the email I received at 6.30 this morning to say that my parcel from France has arrived in the country. Tracking has now very kindly informed me that it was being sent to my local depot today for delivery tomorrow. After a frustrating hour trying to contact the couriers to find out if I could go and collect it I had to admit defeat (I'll bet it was somewhere like Milton Keynes or worse still Northampton !). Al even offered to stay here to take delivery tomorrow then join us wherever, but it could be delivered anytime up to 7pm. So much for delivery in 3-5 working days !! We have to leave in about an hour, so I won't have the lenses for the meet :cryhard: :cryhard: :cryhard: :cryhard:

Glad to hear you and the GT have come to a peace arrangement Will!

I hope one of those green GT's you anticipate isn't mine, Sylvia - it'll be the red Celebration this time for her first outing

Hope the weather picks up for tomorrow!

Biggest fear - my 480 is going to get wet and dirty - but looks like sunday will be dry so I spend all day cleaning him!

Haha, saaaaame. 😂 I get uncomfortable driving through a little puddle!

We’ve made it to Northampton, not far from the Toby. Hopefully the rain overnight won’t cause any issues and he’ll start.

I have zero info centre too but a good tight set of crossed fingers!
