:hopping: thanks Sylvia!

Worth it for lunch at the Boat House again if nothing else! It was a good trip last year so here's hoping for the same again.

And me too ;) You never know, it might happen - sightings of me in the Celebration are rarer than live photos of Nessie, mind :D

well, there's plenty of photos claiming to be Nessie, so we'll cross our fingers for a 480 claiming to be yours

PS: If anyone runs into breakdown issues up close to Aberdeen I do have a number of spares across to parts cars that could I'm sure to be implemented into action if required! :)

Hopefully it won't be a problem but this is very worth knowing, thanks! It might avoid the ignominy of being trailered off home as happened to a certain valued member last time around... ;)

Look forward to meeting you again in Cove - and seeing the 940; haven't been up close to one of those for years since my cousin parted with his.

All the best

David

Just a 2.0 GT and a spare full stainless steel system I'm afraid hahah! (which will be for sale when I get round to removing it one day!)

Just a month to go until the Scotland meet yay :D I'm glad to see arthuy is getting there, fingers crossed he's in a 480 this year. If anyone else is interested in joining us for part or all of the day, please make contact.

We have a new participant for the Scotland Meet

This is Willow, our delightful Birman cat, who has just recovered from a really nasty illness. Last weekend it was touch and go, and the vet still doesn't know what caused it, but she's thankfully much better now and fit to travel. Originally she was going to look after herself with her automatic feeder, then we thought we'd have to miss the meet altogether. Now the plan is to bring her with us so we can keep an eye on her. She's not going to enjoy 4 days in the car, but she does it when we drive down to southern Spain with her so it's nothing new. Sadly, it means we can only bring one car as she hates being in a crate and declares her opinions very loudly and constantly. On the other hand, if she's loose in the car with just the driver, she loves feet and wants to be in the driver's footwell. She will however settle on my lap or on my feet when I'm in the passenger seat. Shame we don't have a 480-shaped trailer for her
The Boathouse allow dogs, so we'll ask if we can bring her in. She's usually quite good with her so-called escape proof jacket and lead and she's totally laid back with dogs. I doubt it'll be too hot so we can leave her in the car if necessary with frequent checks.
If anyone is allergic to cats - I mean proper allergy, not just doesn't like them! - it won't be a problem as Birmans don't have the undercoat that causes the reaction. I've tested her on my daughter in law who normally doesn't come to our cat-occupied house and she was fine (she actually stroked Willow and was amazed at how soft cats are - never dared touch one before).

Madam is lady of all she surveys, we are but her humble staff. What she will make of the exhaust remains to be seen.

I am definitely coming now and 99% in a 480!

Driving Cambridge to Newcastle to pick my Dad up, then up to Scotland for the start.‎

Reading my old Broons and Oor Wullie annuals for acclimatisation.

It will be great to have a feline mascot with us‎!

Willow will make the day! She'll not only be our mascot but, in true cat fashion, she will also be completely in charge of everyone :D

Sylvia - that must present a real dilemma: which 480 will have the honour?

James - really pleased to hear you are able to make it. Did the number plate holder arrive ok?

Alan - if you are reading this, which car will you meet us with?

Looking forward to Saturday and catching up with people again!

Best wishes all

David

It actually wasn't difficult at all - Snazzy STILL has no wheel arches (more of that later) and Eva is on sorn so Al was coming in Sven and I was looking forward to testing Lily out with her new exhaust. Al has a bad habit of changing into 2nd with his hand twisted round the opposite way to most people, so he's got the blame for the gear changes starting to graunch and needing parts of the linkage replaced on Snazzy, Eva and Sven. The result is that I don't let him drive Lily any distance, certainly not to Scotland. Apologies to Al if I'm completely wrong, but it took years of nagging to stop him driving with his hand resting on the gear knob, and in fact he didn't stop until our garage man made a comment. Anyway we're coming in Sven so we will have a pair of matching GTs at the meet.

I like the idea of Willow being a mascot, perhaps I should make her a kilt. Second thoughts, that's the staff getting out of hand, I should remember I'm only her personal shopper and the lady's maid who does her daily brush. If I tried to dress her up I might get this:

That's actually someone else's Birman yawning, but how scary are those fangs compared to the tiny front teeth ?
