Scotland Meet July 2019

Post by dragonflyjewels » Mon May 13, 2019 7:54 pm

Suddenly, it's not very far away. Yes, it's a long way to take a 480, but there are some glorious roads in Scotland so why not take a few days for the journey and make a holiday of it ?

We'll be doing the same route as last year, starting at the fabulous Kelpies which have to be seen to appreciate fully, then hopefully on to Knockhill for photos, followed by lunch on the shore of Loch Leven, tea break at Peggy Scott's cafe and ending at Cove Bay just south of Aberdeen.

Does anyone who wants to come have any Saturdays in July they can't do ? I need to get my skates on booking venues.

This was great fun last year and we're definitely up for this again :D

Will let you know re dates asap though since some Saturdays in July are going to be tricky...

Thanks for all your efforts on these trips, Sylvia!

Hi Sylvia,

ideally not the 13th for me! I won't be able to do the full route I doubt but I will meet at Cove like last year! although not in the 480 as it's still in the garage on strike after a minor breakdown and me not finding time to sort it yet!

but with a bit of luck, I'll be along in the 940 :)

It's beginning to look like it'll be the 20th. Hope that's OK for anyone else who hasn't made contact yet.

Should have replied earlier. I'm out as I'm back at work then. I can probably do the two weekends before. ‎

Hi Sylvia, unable to make the Scotland meet sadly, real shame I really enjoyed the Derbyshire meet. At the moment my celeb is dashless and sitting sadly in the garage while I figure out how to undo the multi-pin connectors so I can fit new cog for the odometer that failed at Derwent. For some reason they do not want to come apart and am awaiting delivery of a set of Joeps rear light seals. Oh the joys of the wedge!!

Hi again Sylvia

All things being equal we should be fine for this...cheeky I know, but are you booking into the hotel in Cove again overnight? If so, could you do the same for us while you are at it? ;)

Best wishes

Hi Sylvia.

I won't be able to do the Scotland trip but would be keen to do the Lincolnshire wolds in October.

Thanks

I'm now proposing to move the date forward to August - 17th to be precise. It's more convenient for us as well as a few other members, and gives a few 480s with problems a better chance of being sorted in time. I'll start a new thread with the date and schedule. Anyone else who'd like to come warmly welcome, it's a great day but a long way so numbers are low. Small but beautiful !
