Volvo 480 Club Europe

Finally got it sorted !

If anyone wants to stay over on the Friday evening, we will be staying at the Travelodge next door to the Toby.

start at Toby Carvery, Wootton, Northampton NN4 0TG - we will be there from 9am, and the convoy will set off at 10.30

Lunch at Tissington Hall DE6 1RA 12 - 2pm

Tea break Derwent Dam S33 0BB 3 - 5.30

all the fun of Snake Pass A57 5.30 - 6

Evening Meal The Fairway, Dodsworth, Barnsley S75 4LS 6.45 for 7pm

Accomodation is available at The Fairway either through their website http://www.sleeptighthotels.com or ring 0871 2002289
Double rooms start at £45 plus breakfast. Having had great difficulty finding somewhere with rooms available, I recommend booking asap.
There is an option to pay approx. £10 more and be able to cancel foc up to the 9th May for anyone who isn't sure they can make it.

As usual, the meeting is open to everyone who would like to come. If you can't make the whole day feel free to join or leave along the way, but
please let me know your plans so I can ensure we don't lose anyone if the times go to pot and I also need firm numbers to give the evening venue.

We hope to see lots of other 480s at Bruntingthorpe as well as for the meet.

Might be a bit of a long shot, as I have yet to acquire the trusty (not rusty!) steed to carry me Derbyshire-bound... I hope to be able to come along all sheepish and newly 480-shod though. Looking forward to the effort of trying to get there

Last year, I left one meet on a recovery truck and another blind with the heater matrix blowing steam on the window at night! Both were gruelling days but just added to the fun. I suggest you buy a ropey one the night before and drive it to the meet to get the full experience!

I'm booked in The Fairway and aim to make breakfast at the start. My wife is theoretically coming too. She thinks I'm 480 mental... wait until she meets all of us!‎

James, your wife has clearly never driven a 480, get her behind the wheel !

Thank you....I'm in! Collecting in early April. Not been to a meeting since 2005....will have to see if I can dig those photos out.

Great stuff - the old photos will be very interesting. Please pm me name/car reg/mobile no. and whether you will be staying for the evening meal. Also, are you joining in Northampton ?

I'm in for the full day including the evening meal - I've been rather busy over the last few months and the cars have been a bit neglected so this will give me something to aim for!

Plan to meet at Tissington and have the whole day and the meal at the Fairway but unable to stay over I'm afraid. Looking forward to meeting everyone and hoping for some fine weather for it

Norman - we will definitely convoy down to Tissington! Meeting at the A59 junction with the A1 sounds a sensible option for us...

Nigel (Poustie) and Martin Mc - are you coming and do you want to help form our own mini-convoy? If so where would be best to meet? A64 junction with A1 perhaps for Nigel? Martin - you'd be coming across the country, so a bit further down perhaps?

If you'd like to PM me I am happy to take on co-ordinating us...

Sylvia - as you have probably assumed but I notice I haven't actually said, Lee & I will be there for the evening meal but not looking to stay over.
