Royal Hotel, Hayfield SK22 2EP 6.15 onwards evening meal

If anyone wants to stay over Saturday night and hasn't already booked, I believe the Royal is full but there are b&b's in Hayfield and the surrounding area.

Those coming to the evening meal need to let me have their menu choices in the coming week. We visited and had steak, bacon and ale pie which was excellent.

Anyone who can't make the whole day is very welcome to join us for whatever part suits them, but please contact me with your plans. A 480 is of course preferable, but not essential, all you need is enthusiasm for them ! There will be plenty of opportunity to chat to other owners so even if yours is off the road or still a project do come along.

Well, the forum has certainly been a hive of activity this week ! One minute this is at the top, the next it's 3 pages back !

Really sorry people, but we are not going to be able to make this one - I've held off on a final decision for as long as possible, but personal issues are dictating life at the moment (tbh, I am only getting around to putting Lily back on the road today).

Be a really shame not to be there - I hope you all have fun!

Sadly we will be missing dcwalker and eye of ra for this one - hopefully we'll see both of them later this year.

Suggestions for a Sunday morning visit for those staying over in Hayfield:
dcwalker and his wife returned to the dam and walked around the reservoir last year and loved it - info online says it is approx 4 miles
Alternatively, there is the Blue John cave. Blue John is a very attractive stone which I believe is only found in this one location. Al and I intend to visit on the 13th before we head off home.
They do 1 hour tours - postcode is S33 8WA. Drinks, ice creams and snacks available in the giftshop.

The food order has gone off to the Royal, but if anyone else wants to join for the meal it's no problem, we will be in the function room which will comfortably seat quite a few more. If anyone does unexpectedly find they can come, please check out the menu and let me have your choices. It is May Queen day in Hayfield so the Royal will be very busy at lunchtime and some things may not be available by the evening unless they have been pre-ordered.

Rachel has a list of facebook owners who are coming, interesting to see that one has a flame red GT so there will be a flash of fire in the GT corner ! Also our own oddballer was in his work van when he came to the meet last October but he has his flame red Celebration back on the road now. Perhaps we should bookend the green GTs with flame red for the photos.
