Hello everyone. I'll be solo for the trip and will be doing the whole journey. A friend lives near Holmfirth so may join us at the end.

I'm won over by the snug idea, sounds great.

Sounds good :) I'll be there from start to finish. Hopefully

Someone tell me they'd like to go home on Saturday evening with a spare gearbox....

Hurrah - numbers are growing!

Slight change of plan - I will now be solo :( . Still aiming to join at Tissington though!

Looking forward to it: fingers crossed for the weather :D

Looks like the earliest I can join in the fun will be at Derwent Dam. I'll aim to be there from about 2.30 or so, as the old girl has a hot starting problem which will mean she needs a rest before we continue on through to Huddersfield. It looks like I may be solo too, as I can't figure out a way to fit the 21st Century child seat in the rear seats, for my 2 year old to travel in comfort and style.. Isofix hadn't been invented when the 480 was conceived I guess..

Anyway, the dam will be a great photo opportunity no doubt :)

I'm in favour of the pub with a snug, although there may be competition for the space from other groups of walkers, bikers, snug-sitters etc..

How many are in the 'convoy' now? Hopefully we will have cars of every colour :D

See you at the weekend!

No, child safety seats seem to be a complete no-no for 480s, none of the ones our grandchildren have had would fit in. 'Baby on the way' is often given as a reason for selling :cryhard: .
Currently it looks like there will be 8 or 9 cars (was hoping for double figures but heyho) Al and I are coming in 2 cars - Al has Sven, a dark green GT (love that colour) and my 'new' tatty turbo will hopefully be transformed into Lethal Lily. She went into the bodyshop off white and rust coloured with one red door and one blue wing mirror, and will be coming out all white with black pinstripes. It's a tight schedule for them to get everything done though so I might end up in a currently sorned Paris Blue (either Snazzy, the original ES I've had since 2001, or Evil Eva who is Al's turbo) Blame Snazzy, she started it all, now we both have 480itis and an empty bank account.........
The Ford offered to reserve the snug for us, so if everyone is in favour of going there I'll give mine host a ring. The dam should be great for photos, you can go up inside one of the towers for views from the top as well. We didn't drive the Snake Pass route, so I don't know but hoping there might be a layby or two for more photos. And then of course, a row of 480s all parked the same way round makes a fab shot.

Pub with the snug sounds good to me!

Sylvia - not sure I can cope with you calling your 480 Lily as well, even it does have a Lethal before it

Hi Martin, I think I read on here years ago that a longer seatbelt could be fitted from a 700 series car. Not isofix obviously but enables car seats that loop the belt through to be used. Not sure if this is for front or back though.
